When I type a letter on keyboard it keeps repeating the letter

The key might be sticking down, which is probably a defect in the product. I tested an ihome keyboard (Bluetooth) and everything except the spacebar was prone to sticking itself down, no pop spill or nothing. So, I recommend to return the keyboard if you still have the receipt and get a Bluetooth Apple keyboard instead, as ihome is good for their docks, but their keyboards suck!

Keys sticking

I don't know which keys are sticking, but if they do stick, it usually means it's time for a new keyboard. Desktop keyboards are relatively easy to clean. No so with laptops.

I'd be looking for a new keyboard. Try E-bay first for the best price.

Keyboard lag

Sounds like you either have forward key sticking or you repeat rate in your keyboard settings is too high.

goto control panel -> classic view -> keyboard

First tab should be speed -> adjust repeat speed and try again. If that doesn't work then you have a key sticking and you keyboard may need to be cleaned or replaced.

The keys on my keyboard keep sticking. this is a

HI,

If the keyboard is so new that you can take it back with the receipt, you should do so. Some keyboards are just not made very well, or if normally a good product, you may simply have a defective one. No reason to keep it if you can return it. There is not an adequate way of fixing keys that stick. Usually that can be caused by spilling something like a sugary drink or coffee onto it, or if it has been exposed to direct sunlight for a long period of time, which could cause the plastic to warp.

Panasonic Toughbook CF-30 Keyboard Replacement

If memory serves, there are four screws that are removed, that hold the keyboard header on. (The strip of plastic under the LCD screen)

Can't recall at the moment, if there are rubber caps, (Covers), over the screw heads. If so, you just ease up one edge of these, with a small flat tip Jewelers screwdriver.

They are held in place by a glue, that's akin to rubber cement. They should stick right back on, if you keep the glue side clean.

(In otherwords, watch how you set them down, in a safe place. Non-glue side up. Good luck trying to keep the little beggars off of your fingertips, or the screwdriver tip. The glue works real well! lol!)

They made a few variations of the keyboard used.
It may have double-sided sticky tape, or it may have flat lock pegs.

For the version with the stick tape, cut it. You peel the rest of the tape off, after you have the keyboard removed. Then apply new double-sided sticky tape, when installing the new keyboard.

For the version with the lock pegs:
Slide the keyboard forward as much as you can. There are four lock pegs, that help secure it in place.
(Flat tabs of plastic. Two on each side of the keyboard)

Now lift up on the end of the keyboard that is nearest to the LCD screen. Don't go crazy, as there is a cable you have to disconnect!

The keys on my keyboard keep sticking

I think the keys are more or less worn and you may have to purchase a new keyboard. One other thing you can do is to use a fine screwdriver and scrape away any dirt or debris that may be around the keys and use a can of compressed air to blow away the scraped of debris. If this does not work, the best alternative would be to buy a new keyboard. There are tons of cheap keyboards on the market and you can find some for under $20.

Wireless keyboard keys sticking

on most keyboad you can take of each key. Try to get a flat head screw driver and pop it of with some force. You then can clean the keys. If this does not work you might need a new keyboard. Do not use water (or very little)

New keyboard keeps sticking!

The keyboard must be dirty or bad. If it is new take it back and exchange it for another one.

I can't fix this for you, but if I helped you get it fixed, please rate it as a fixya not a helpful rating. These ratings let me be allowed to help you and others in the future.
