I got an r4i-sdhc from r4-sdhc.com and i want to continue my saved data of pokemon black. when i patched pokemon black with the english patch and wanted to play the screen was white.

It's going to depend on which r4 card you have and if you've updated your firmware on your R4. The only versions of the r4 card that are compatible with the 3DS are "R4i Gold", "R4i Gold 3DS", "R4iDSN" and "R4iDSN 3DS". If your R4 card is not one of these, then unfortunately this will mean your R4 is not going to work with the 3DS. If you have one of these cards, you'll simply need to update your firmware:

- R4i Gold 3DS from R4ids.cn (3DS V2.0.0-2 Patch for R4i gold 3DS card)
- R4i Gold from R4ids.cn (3DS V2.0.0-2 Patch for R4i gold (NON-3DS) card)
- R4iDSN 3DS (R4idsn 3DS 2.0.0-2 Patch)
- R4iDSN (R4idsn 3DS 2.0.0-2 Patch for Non-3DS card)

Hi there,

It sounds like you updated your Nintendo DSi console and your R4i card is no longer working. The best thing to do is to buy a card that works with the newest 1.4.3 firmware. Cards that do this include:

• R4i 3DS
• Acekard 2i
• Supercard DSTWO

Check out R4DSRevolutionCards.com (not a shop) for information about R4 cards / R4i cards in general, they explain the differences between loads of different cards. My favourite is the Supercard DSTWO though. I recommend DSCardWorld.com as a shop but NDS-Gear.com apparently has some good reviews too.

There are several different versions of software for the R4 cards. If your R4 card has 'R4i Upgrade' and 'V1.4' in a yellow star on the front or just 'R4 Upgrade' then download this software - http://de.r4i-sdhc.com/R4i%20English%20V1.14b.rar

When you click the correct link above choose 'save' and save the file on your computer. When it has downloaded insert your R4's SD micro card into the USB adapter put it into your PC. Go to 'My Computer' and look for the SD card drive, probably called 'Removable Disk'. right click the drive and select 'Format'. Check the box to allow a quick format and wait for it to complete. After open the drive by double clicking it to display an empty window and then minimize it to the taskbar with the '-' command in the top right of the window. Next go to the location where you downloaded the software above, usually 'My Documents' or the 'Desktop' by default. Right click the file and select 'Extract Files...'. Click the SD drive you just formatted, i.e 'Removable Disk (E:)' to highlight it in blue and then click, 'OK'.
You may now copy your .nds game files to the SD card or insert it into your R4 cartridge and your DS.

cause DSI is the nintendos attempt to stop R4 card users! see the r4 and GnM cards made nintendo invest in a microsd slot! so try using that card with the dsi instead of the R4 as people now are hacking the micro sd slot to allow any ds rom to be played! faster then th R4 due to the fact that the micro sd is connected right to the motherboard of a ds game slot devices such as R4

r4-v.com looks really really suspicious. Two of the main R4 manufacturers are www.r4sdhc.com and www.r4i-sdhc.com If you bought a card made from them it should show a black loading screen error, not a red menu. You might have a gotten a bad clone.

If you're looking to get genuine cards for your ds like the R4 SDHC (there are fakes out there), take a look here, http://www.dscardworld.com. I managed to find this site after I got burned at a few others. Loved having my emails responded to because I had loads of questions, and they were quick to ship it. US based support and shipping I believe.

you obviously either updated to version 1.4 and they dont have a patch for that yet, or your using the DS version. either can be easily checked. if its your DSi that is version 1.4 then you can format system memory, or wait for a new patch. fi its the DS version, then buy a DSi version.
