Above all...DO NOT TURN IT ON!!! Remove the card and battery and try to dry those compartments as best you can. Bury the camera in a bowl of dry rice for a week, turning it occasionally. Then, with your fingers crossed, you can try it.

Repair basement ceiling from toilet overflow

If the toilet that overflowed had liquid and or solid human waste in it at the time of the overflow, then it is considered "black water" and a biohazard. You could let it dry out, but you may experience foul odors. It is best to open up the ceiling, clean the area, and repair if this is the case.

How to change toilet bowl

Shut off water to tank and drain tank by flushing , then use a sponge to soak up any left. Disconnect water line, then 2 of 1/2" nuts at base of toilet ( floor ) . Lift toilet off, clean old wax off toilet and flange at floor, and install new wax gasket. Set toilet down straight and aligned with gasket and flange as well as studs. Make sure toilet is all way down on new wax gasket ( sit on it and move around a bit until toilet feels steady on floor ) then put nuts washers etc back on and snug it up. Don't tighten too much and snap base, just good and snug.

Toilet keeps running

Hello, The problem 99 percent of the time is, inside the holding tank of the toilet is a plunger, at the bottom, which is attached to the flush system. The plunger gets weak, or worn out. Don,t worry the is is a easy do it your self project. This is what you do for the fastest easiest and should run you under 30 bucks. You write down your toilet name, don't worry about model. This is the easy part, you turn off water. Valve that goes into wall down by base of toilet. Turn valve clockwise to turn off. Then carefully take off lid, set aside in safe spot to not drop or break. Now flush toilet, then grab your camera, phone camera if you have it and take some good pictures of inside of tank where all your controls are. Then take a trip to local plumbing supply, I recommend home depot, good price and great personal help. They sell the whole kit, it's cheap, and they also can make sure you have right one, and can show you how to do it, with the kit they have for it. Just show them the pictures of it off your phone or digital camera. Then you go home and it comes out Real easy, replace it with kit, and then turn water on, test it some, put lid back on and your back to flushing and saving water. Thank you, hope this helps and it is kind of a easy fun, do it your self project that should take about 20 minutes to change over. Thanks, mike from fixya.

Whiledoing a little landscaping, I cut the incoming water line and, while repairing it, I got dirt in the line and it went to two of our toilets. Now, these two toilets will not shut off when the toilets...

Jim, you may be suprised how easy it is to remove the toilet fill valves. Turn the stop **** off at the wall under the toilet. Flush the toilet and then soak up the remaining water in the tank with a towel. In a lot of cases you can turn the supply line fitting by hand. Even if you need a wrench or channel lock pliers, turn the large fitting nut clockwise until it drops free from the toilet tank. Reach inside and lift the valve out of the tank. You probably can't disassemble the valve, but you can inspect it for dirt and debris. Depending on the type of valve, you can probably blow backwards through the valve and watch for whatever is in there to come out. Most valves depend on a float of some sort to raise an arm up to shut the water off. Be sure the float is in the open position when you try to blow through it. What I would do is trot over to Home Depot or Lowes and pick up two of those tank valves that look like a little turtle and put them in instead of cleaning out the old ones. They are less than $20.00 and don't require any float at all. Less moving parts means less things to go wrong. You set the water level in your tank by turning a small screw on the turtle. When you reinstall the valves, whichever one you use carefully tighten the water line nut back to the tank. Do not overtighten. Check for leaks. Do not leave any leak, not even just one drop an hour. Good luck.

MANSFIELD TOILET KEEP LEAKING

I'm not exactly sure where the seals are that you are describing. I'm thinking that you might need to shut the water off, unbolt the toilet from the floor, and replace the big wax toilet gasket underneath.

That's the main seal for internal plumbing in the toilet, unless you're talking about the toilet leaking into itself and wasting water. In that case you might need to simply adjust the mechanism (float, flapper valve etc.) to get the right setup.

I'm not sure I completely understand your problem though.
I hope this has helped anyway.

Nikon Coolpix S50 lens Problem

No. Water ruins cameras, water and damage due to being dropped is even worse. Now that you've let it sit and dry corrosion will have set into various electronic and mechanical components and there will be residual conductive salts left where the water evaporated.

Your camera is unrepairable. Buy another one and take better care of it, or buy a rugged tough camera designed to be "you proof" or given that it fell down a toilet, maybe that should be "poo proof"...

Lence will not come out.

If the lens was misaligned during the fall, that would explain an error like that. It sounds like it is not well in any case. Time for a new camera maybe... :(
