Strange noise Hey, i just purchased a sirius stratus 4. its a great little gadget but the only problem is i cant seem to get this highpitched whine out of the system. its only there when my receiver is plugged into my ciggarett lighter. im assuming i have a bad ground somewhere in my vheicle. the pitch of the whine increases with the engine rpm's... any soloutions to this? and yeah, ive checked all the connections and used my headunit with my ipod all the time on the aux in and it dosent have this problem. any help would be greatly appretiacted

Some vehicles increase sound while you accelerate. There should be an option in your head units settings (not your sirius unit) to turn it off. It may be causing the whine.

I have a 2014 dodge ram pickup with xm version of sirius xm. In northern canada xm signal is horrible bit sirius works flawlessly. Is there a upgrade to switch to sirius signal without adding a stand alone...

The 2012 Dodge Caliber had a Sirius radio instead of XM - BUT - you will have to check if it has a "FAST" or a "SLOW" "BUSS SPEED" - that is very important that the radio you replace it with has the correct buss speed. Sirius will only work a little while longer as they are eventually going to phase out their overhead satellites for a geostationary satellite like XM. XM has the better sound than Sirius - if you can receive them. If you can't find a factory replacement from 2012, then BestBuy still sells a Stratus Sirius radio - and you can probably even fish-out the antenna wire that you already have for use with the plug and play add-on Status. Good luck - let me know if you have more questions.

Sirius radio locked, channel will not change from 000. SID number ending in 800

Welcome to FixYa!
Remove the batteries/power line connecting to the Sirius Radio. Connect it back after 2 minutes.
This will refresh the device without loosing any saved settings/informations and will unlock the channels.

Thank you for using FixYa. Have a great day. Jas247

Yes, many of the channels are now the same and you will pay a little bit more for an additional package called "Best of XM" to add some XM-specific channels to your Sirius radio.

Broken antenna jack on a Sirius Stratus 5

Are you missing the center pin, by chance (which often snaps if the plug isn't lined up correctly or if you wiggle the lead to connect or disconnect)?
I fixed mine by inserting a 1.5CM piece of very thin but stiff copper wire into the dimple. You may have to 'coax' it a bit with needle nose pliers.

Sportster 4 randomly restarts...

You are not going to be happy about this. I am actually on hold with Sirius as I am typing this. I am having my account suspended...
For the past 2 months I have had the same difficulties. The unit will work properly for a few minutes and then go crazy. Music cuts out, the screen dims and brightens, the same start-up tone and sometimes the unit freezes and won't respond to the remote or any buttons on the unit. There is usually a high pitched 'whine' in the background of every channel. Quite often after the unit does its start-up tone thing there will be no music at all and I will hear strange noises through my speakers, like a thumping or something.
The reason you won't be happy is because I am on hold with a tech and he told me that my unit is at the end of its life. There is nothing you can do about it. Its dead.
Im sure you are as happy as I am about having to dump another 170 dollars or whatever for a new unit. Its bull. I have been told that the sirius units have a life of about 2-3 years but I didn't know if I believed it. I do now. And I don't know if I will continue business with them.

Static sound

Some Pioneer radios allow for seperate audio controlls between FM CD and External sources like you Sat Radio. It may be that your settings are out of wack (Prob the factory setting which is crap), try that out and let me know.

LCD screen back light doesn't work

Ditto - JVC KT-SR2000 backlight doesn't work (watched die yesterday), after 2 years, 10 months. Sadly JVC no longer represents quality.
Note: Original JVC KT-SR2000 was a fire hazard - defective from start - overheated hardly describes it. BestBuy replaced first month.
