Looks like the flash drive is dead. Try plugging into a different USB port and also a different computer. IF all these didn't work, the drive is dead. Thanks.
kindly go to control pannel and and see that removable media device is configured and also check the drivers for it in device manager to ensure that fault is not on sofware end ,if this does not show and green......then try changing the port you insert it into hopefully this will fix the issue else consult local hardware shop for recovery of the data in it and also get it replace if under warranty
I had the same exact problem on my 8G card. It worked fine in the camera, but when I plugged it into the card reader it flashed once and then the light went off. So, I put the card back in the camera and ran a USB cable from my camera (there was a port on the side of my Cannon Powershot that was smaller than a USB, but I don't know what to call it) to my computer. When I turned the camera power on, the computer was able to read the 8G card while it was inside the camera. I downloaded everything to my computer at that point. Hope this helps! I got the chord from my external hard drive and that fit from the camera to the computer.

Now, error message states flashdrive not recognized. must then get behind pc, and gently work with it until i can hear the shift in the duo core processors and the orange light on the flashdrive comes on.
