Question about Maytag Neptune MDE5500AY Electric Dryer
It is about 10 years old. We cleaned out the vent ductwork.
This problem is normally caused by a cycling thermostat failure.
Disconnect the dryer from its power source. Remove the front panel by:
1. open the door and remove the 2-phillips screws that secure the door and hinges to the to cabinet.
2. Remove the screws on the opposite side.
3. Disengage front panel from the top panel by pulling forward at the top of the front panel.
4. The thermostat will be located below the blower, mounted to the blower housing. 2-1/4" hex screws secure the part to the blower housing.
