Hi i am an ex HP employee

here are the steps

Remove the TouchPad Assembly

  1. Remove the T8-9 mm screw that secures the TouchPad assembly to the base enclosure.
  2. Turn the notebook right side up and open the display panel fully.
  3. Lift the rear edge of the TouchPad assembly and remove it from the top cover.
  4. Disconnect the TouchPad cable from the system board.
  5. Remove the TouchPad assembly from the notebook.
Replace the the TouchPad Assembly
  1. Place the TouchPad assembly over the palm rest.
  2. Reconnect the TouchPad cable to the system board.
  3. Toe the front edge of the TouchPad assembly into the top cover and lower the rear edge into position until it snaps into place.
  4. Close the display panel and turn the notebook upside down.
  5. Replace the T8-9 mm screw that secures the TouchPad assembly to the base enclosure.
I hope it works out

How do you temorarily turn off the HP530 touchpad?

There might be a setting in the Touchpad software that allows you to turn it off. Click Start Control Panel and look for Mouse or Touchpad.

There might be a button located at the very top of the touchpad in the middle that toggles it on and off.

I have the same problem. An external mouse does not behave erratically. If the touchpad is wearing out, will a replacement touchpad solve the problem, or does the circuit board need replacing?

My HP DV 6920ea touchpad is broken the clicks are not working. can i get it replaced ?

Yes you will be able to replace the touch-pad.

To make sure you get the job done right, I suggest you get in touch with the manufacturer of your laptop and get it sent away for repair, this may be expensive but at least you know the job has been done properly.

Disabling the touchpad on HP 530

Go into your windows device manager.
Search for your touchpad (should call synaptics input device)
give it a right click and disable the device.

I rather think that your mainboard is having problems, tried a bios upgrade and the latest drivers yet?
