I am not sure what model of Quaser camcorder I have. I bought it around 5 years ago from Walmart. Used less then 100 hours. I went to use it after it sat for a few months. Everything seems fine until I hit the eject button. Then it shuts down. Tried to replace the battery and also to hook it up directly to the wall outlet. Everything ok until the eject button is hit again. Door will not open. It justs shuts down.
Sounds like there may be a short or something with the eject button. Does the door try to eject the tape before shutting off or does it immediately shut off when the eject button is pressed?
Also, how and where did you have it stored for those few months?
Please let me know about my questions and your best bet is to open it up and see if the connections look bad at the eject button or to see if there is any kind of build up in the camera.

you should try taking off the outer panels and forcing it a little won't hurt it as long as you try to gently move it open the way it should open.

I had it stored in my roll top desk. It seems like it may be a short. I do hear noice like it is trying to open the door just before it shuts off. I found that if I hit the eject button again a few times the power comes on. All the other functions seem to work without shutting down the camcorder. I can not get the door to open up and do not want to force it. Do you think it will be too expensive to fix or maybe something I can do?
No it will not open the door when it is connected to the wall socket. I thought it may be a battery and tried that, but it is not. It acts the same regardless of where the power is coming from.
