Taking to long to dry clothes

How long does it take you to dry your clothes? Normally, it takes 50 minutes (1 cycle) to 1.5 hours to completely dry clothes. However, if it's taking you at least 3 cycles (probably 2.5 to 3 hours) to dry a single batch of clothes, then, there might be a problem with your dryer's igniter.

Samsung DV218 AEW works fine in time dry but not in normal dry. Jumps from 50 min to 1 and shuts off.

Sounds like you have a bad controller./timer. It i fairly easy to replace if you want to. I would turn timer to max time and know that it will stop at 50 minutes.

My drier was on the sensor cycle and was supposed to run for 54 mins. It was still drying over 2 hours later and the display showed there were 42 mins remaining in the cycle. The clothes were completely...

More than likely the temperature sensor has gone bad. If the unit is under warranty I would contact the dealer...otherwise you need to replace the sensor.

My maytag gas dryer has always taken a very long time to dry clothes....usually 2 hours. I have had it for 8 years and it has been this way the whole time. is this normal?

i would check air flow out of vent normally with plugged vent extreame amount of moisture is present in dryer on high temperature of air moving through dryer is
max about 140 degrees normally with room temperature arpund 70 the drying time is normally 60minutes or less
contributing factors to long dry time
pinched vent hose final rinse cold water
below 50 degrees remove vent screen inside dryer clean with hot water shine flashlight into vent opening verify not plugged if have candy or probe type
temperature gauge verify temperature
at vent exit

My dryer seems to be hot, however it takes forever to dry a load. Is 3 -4 hours normal to dry towels?

Your heater coil has burned into 2 parts. Find a friend WHO IS KNOWLEGABLE about dryers, Call a repair man or find a good used dryer. I understand this isn't what you wanted to hear, but this involves lint and 220 voltage. NOT to be taken lightly. The coil will cost around $50 and the repair men will be a minium of $75; Look in the paper and buy another one....

Dle2532 lg dryer, cooling light is always on

I'll take a stab that you use dryer softener sheets. These will deposit a coating on the two metal sensor bars (about 4 inches long, very near the lint filter inside the drum) which prevents the sensor from "seeing" that the clothes are still wet, so the dryer jumps to the cool down portion of the cycle. Clean the metal bars off and it should work again. (note: the bars are not in the cycle if you choose time dry instead of using the automatic cycles)

Back & top of dryer get hot, clothes take long time to dry.

First thing to check for is blocked airflow. Check the dryer as well as the venting from the back of the dryer to the outside of the house good airflow is neccessary. You could remove the venting from the back of the dryer and run a load to see if that helps. Do not leave it off as it is exhausting lint and if a gas dryer spent fuel.

Whirpool Dryer......

GAS or Elect. does not make a diffrence 95% of drying too long problems are from a clogged vent try to run a normal load with the vent off the the back letting the hot air into the house if it drys normal then you need to clean out the venting going to the outside If you are worried about the lint blowing inside you can put an old pantiehose over the vent to catch the lint dust
