Driver of sound

The Dell Support web site only offers audio drivers for Windows XP or earlier versions of Windows.
If you are using Windows Vista or 7 then you will probably have to rely on the default audio driver that these versions of Windows will load automatically when installed as Dell do not offer an official device driver for these versions.
The alternative approach if the built in sound device is not recognised and you cannot find a suitable device driver would be to buy either an internal sound card or a USB sound card - the latter just plugs into the USB port, provides the normal audio sockets and can be used to connect your speakers, headphones, microphone etc.

My computer can play audios and videos but cannot produce any sound and i have tried to play both CDs, Flash and some music saved inside still the same problem occurs. what can i do? thanks.

THIS WILL HAPPEN IF:
-if your speakers are plugged in the wrong hole
-if the power adapter from the wall to the speaker fails
-if the speakers are muted in windows sounds properties (double click speaker icon by clock on desktop to check-making sure the MUTE box is NOT checked)
-if the sound card drivers are corrupt or not installed
(right click "right click "my computer" left click "properties"- click the "hardware" tab at the top- click on the "device manager" button
scroll down to where it says "sound and audio" with a + next to it. if there is a yellow ! or ? it means that your software drivers for the sound are corupt or missing and will need to be reinstalled using the install disk or downloaded drivers from the dell website which are free.
Regards.

If the driver get installed and the sound is not working then, check whether the windows audio services is started or not.

Goto Control panel ----> Administrative tools------> Services------>Windows audio

check the status

if not started stat the service by clicking on Start button

Right click  select Properties.
make sure startup type is set to automatic.

Restart your system.That's it

Note :  There are hardware which except wrong driver too then in the device manager, there will be a yallow exclaimation mark.

Check that one too.

The logitech rx 650 mice is no longer recognisable on my dell inspiron laptop 1525 it was working well untill a few days ago now its not being recognised

I know this is going to sound dumb, but did you change the batteries? If so, try the adapter in a different usb port. Also, there might be a button on the bottom of the mouse to resync it with the adapter. Try pressing that and see if it starts responding again. Hope this helps.

Case only has AC97 front audio connectors. The motherboard (790i ultra sli) only supports HD audio. How can I connect my front panel audio?

If you can get a pin out diagram of both the HD audio connector and the AC97 connector you can build an adapter to connect them.

Howevet the price of Midlevel Soundcards is relatively cheap( I think you could buy a Creative XFi card for less than the cost of the adapter mentioned above) Which would give you the connector you desire plus Surround sound and EAX support.

Hope this helps

Sound card is busted on my laptop and was wondering if I can fix it first before I have to spend any money

Sound card on a laptop is integrated on motherboard, and there is no way to fit inside an external one.

Try first reinstalling the driver, you can download the driver from manufacturer website.

If drivers do not fix it, and you are sure the audio chipset is faulty, all you can do is using an external usb card and speakers, like this ones:

Turtle Beach Audio Advantage Micro USB Audio Adapter
SIIG SoundWave 7.1 Audio Adapter

But most of the times you fix the audio by reinstalling drivers.

No sound after installing xp

Hello,

Cheer you up! You can install the drivers of the audio card by inserting the CD Utilities enclosed in your systemax from the vendor. Please install all the drivers , the chipset, audio, VGA, LAN USB. This will resolve your problems.

If you have no CD Utilities then go to the manufacuturer's website and then search and download the drivers of your system.

may this help,

melnavz

PS: pls donot rate me if the solution won't resolve the issue, but if this help then, rate me fixya..
