Question about Samsung SMH7178STD Microwave Oven
I have a 2 year old Samsung over the range. It heats fine but gives a deep humming.(like someone blowing a horn) when it starts and even in the middle. I have tried rebooting it. Becomes ok for a short while and then starts again Why is it haapening?
This usually means the magnetron is failing.
Just be sure the internal cooling fan is working by making sure you feel air flow. If not, call for service right away.
The magnetron part cost is covered beyond the normal 1-year warranty, so when it gets worse or stops heating, you'll have to call for service.
