Wrong cartridge messsage

Wrong cartridge message even tho i put in new cartridges.

    Replacing the cartyridge, I got the message "wrong cartridge.

    I know for sure I have the right cartridge

    How can I reset the printer?

I think you've solved the problem but wanted to say I had the same issue. I learned I needed to replace the printhead. Didn't want to spend $40+, but finally ordered from Canon. Problem fixed. This is a great site!!

Hi, Please follow :
1. Reseat F30 / F50 print head 2. The Print Head may need replacing - F50 3. Press ON/OFF switch to reset the multifunction device 4. The F50 may require repair

My HPLJ3500 Color Printer wont print black even tho we just put in a new cartridge. Prints magenta, cyan, yellow, but no black. HELP!


Run the PQ troubleshooting diagnostic.
See if the black is printing.
If not, run the Disable Cartridge check. This will allow you print with only one cartridge in the printer. Take out all the cartridges. Put the black in another slot and put the cyan in the black slot(the top). Print the config page. If the black is printing, is the cyan printing. If black isn't printing the cartridge is bad. If black is printing and cyan isn't something is wrong with the printer. If they are both printing put them back in the correct locations along with the other two colors. It isn't the printer.

I have an Okidata c5150n printer which keeps giving the message "M Toner empty" even tho' there's a brand new cartridge installed. The same message shows even when I put a different cartridge and...


On the right side of the machine there is a part which monitors the toners. The toner sensor board 42613601 may be dirty or defective. See #29 in the diagram
It may be something physical, too like something not fitting, etc., but generally I recommend to replace the board.

Exclamation point keeps flashing. message center says ink cartridge is incompatible even tho we did not touch it.

You will have to buy a new one because the return program cartidges are not reuseable. I read somewhere that the usage is connected to the cartridge, so even if you exchange one with a friend, theirs will not work on yours. Not sure how this works, but I had one and could not figure out how to bypass this feature. Best solution I found was to buy a new printer. It was cheaper than buying new cartridges.

Wrong cartridge message pops up and won't print because of it


Even with new cartridges sometimes the pc board that is attached to the cartridge can get dammage,replace the faulty cartridge.

Printer says 'cartridges missing or not detected'


Sounds as though you have a bum sensor, you may have to take it back to the store where you purchase it, or buy new cartridges and try them, you may have gotten some bad cartridges, it happens! Even tho they are new? Are they the correct ones for your unit????
