Might be a faulty powersupply. try replacing your powersupply and see it works.

When I try to boot up the computer, the power lights and fans start for 2-3 seconds (the same length each time), then stop for 2-3seconds, then start for 2-3sec, etc. The computer never boots, so it's like...

Sounds to me like it might be a problem with the motherboard or CPU. Try a different CPU cause if the CPU can't stay powered up then that will cause the fans to turn on and off. Also make sure you only have power going to the motherboard so that will eliminate any hardware devices like a hard drive, or dvd drive causing problems. Try different memory as well to make sure bad memory isn't causing the system to short out the fans. You only want the bare basics hooked up so you can have the best chance of getting video. If after you go thru these steps you still don't get any video then that means the motherboard is faulty.

MOTHERBOARD PVCLE266M-L MERCURY V3.0A------ HELP HELP-------

The first board may be bad; the detection of input devices is done by chips other than the uProcessor.

The second board may simply be controlling the fan speed according to need and when first powered up, the processor isn't hot.

I need help

Hi,

You need a floppy drive and a startup disk, because that is the only thing that the motherboard will read (i think) in that kind of problem. But ok if you really dont have that items, try this disconnect all the motherboard connectors, like IDE, SATA, & POWERSUPPLY, also temporarily remove all hardware cards connected on motherboard like, Modem, LAN, Video Card, etc. Then you also need to remove the CMOS Battery, its like a silver coin on your motherboard, and also the Processor & Memory. Simple NO DEVICE MUST BE CONNECTED on your motherboard. Then just let your motherboard rest for alteast 1hr or 2hrs. After that, then assemble again your Computer. Be sure you know how to put it back together.
