My Sony DCR-TRV240 camcorder won't eject the tape. The power and all camera features work, but it won't eject a tape.

I'm sorry that the Camcorder is not ejecting tape. Please follow the troubleshooting steps provided below and check the operation:

1. Please make sure that the battery is fully charged. 2. Perform Reset by following steps:

1. Locate the RESET button behind the LCD panel of the camcorder. 2. Use a pointed object (like a ballpoint pen) to press and hold the RESET button for 2-3 seconds. 3. After 2-3 seconds has elapsed, release the RESET button.

3. Perform a manual power reset by following the steps:

1. Turn off the camcorder. 2. Disconnect AC power adapter. 3. Remove the battery pack. 4. Move the POWER switch to the CAMERA position for 15 seconds. 5. Move the POWER switch to the OFF position. 6. Reconnect the AC power adapter or reinsert the battery pack. 7. Turn on the camcorder.

If the issue persists after following all the steps service will be required. You can find repair information and initiate service at:

MiniDV camcorder.

Have you tried recording new video to a new tape and trying to play it? Your old tapes could have become corrupt.

What brand/model of camera do you have? What type of connection are you using to the TV? Composite or S-Video?

Thanks.

I have a zr50mc and it eats tapes. how can i fix it

Hi,
It seems MiniDV tape mechanism got bad and need to be replaced, it is costly part that is available with partstore.com under following part number..
DY18282000 ... RECORDER UNIT, DMC II (3CH) ZR50 MC A
In my opinion, new camcorder would be good instead of getting it repaired.
Thanks.

We are missing our driver and need to download a driver for GR-D750U camcorder

hello btb..... Don't use USB to transfer video from a miniDV tape based machine. Use Firewire. Cheap and easy to install if your computer has an available PCI slot or PCMCIA slot (laptop).

USB will not be successful. Joe Thanks for choosing Fixya!

Panasonic pvgs50d minidv camcorder- problems started when i couldnt see the record time half the time then as time went on I couldnt load a tape, but it will go down and i can close the cover without a...

It seems like your carriage unit needs servicing.. basically the gears that load the tape and move the tape wheels have become worn.. You can attempt to repair this your self at the risk of rendering it useless. YOu can call a service center and let them service it or you can take it in to a profession technician and let him rebuild the gear to gear ratio for you ..

If any other experts have other suggestions you can try, please by all means try them, take mine as a last resort..

I have a miniDV cassette that has a damaged door mechanism and the tape has been snapped. Can this be repaired to enable transfer to a digital medium

Yes the tape can be repaired. The problem is that at the point of the break, there will be some data loss. It should be minimal unless the tape was stretched first. If it is a clean break, the data interruption will be small. The door should be removed as it is primarily there for protection from dust and dirt.

When we press the disc eject button the door does not open on the Hitachi DZ-GX5080A camcorder.

it could well be that the tape or the metal / plastic part that prevents the tape door from being opened accidentaly is bent or broken.

if the memory's on the tape are worthwile the effort bring it i to a specialist repairshop, do not try to open it in any other way than described in the manual of your camcorder

Sony DCR-HC38E Exporting miniDV video to computer

I had a similar problem with my Sharp camorder.
The preview window on XP simply displays corrupted images.
At the end, I bought a different firewire card and it worked for me.

Good luck.
