Windows 7 on my computer,when i isert microgafx 8 it will not work , compatability issue ?

The Sony NW LATER NWZ-A818 is a portable media player that was released in 2010. It may work with Windows 7 and 8, but it's officially supported only for Windows XP and Vista.

Are you using it currentrly? What is your current Operating System? I've been searching and can't see anywhate a windows 8 driver for this scanner.
Bu let me tell you, I'm using currently a Genius ColorPage, originally released for windows 98. Installed windows 2000 driver in compatibility mode for findows XP. There is no driver for Windows XP nor for Windows 7 and coldn't make it work in Windows 7. So I run it on a computer with dual bootWindows XP / Windows 7.
When I need to scan, I simply start up as windows XP. When finished scanning, reboot to windows 7
I Have Windows 7 on a 2 Tb HD SATA and Windows XP on 200 Mb IDE. Is more economical to have a dual boot then buy a new Scanner.
If your scanner won't run on windows 8, install on another HD or a partiton, Windows 7. doual boot Windows 7 / 8 work like a dream.

When loading the latest driver for it from Wacoms site, be sure to change the compatibility on the EXE file to "Windows 7". If that doesn't work, you will need to look at purchasing a newer model. The CTL-460 Wacom Bamboo Pen Tablet was only compatible with XP and Windows 7. Newer Microsoft operating systems are not supported on that product from Wacom.

Yes you can for as long as there are drivers which compatible for windows 7. What is the build of your computer?

Have you tried to shut down the computer, unplug the usd external drive, reboot the computer, plug in the USB external HDD the should apply the driver. That said, Have you tried a Thumb Drive or any other USB device in the USB ports? It's a common problem when upgrading a OS that Hardware issues popup. Open the Device Manager, Is your USB controller working? Enabled? Any other devices in error? Unknown devices? Use the Win 7 drivers for your computer found on the computer manufacturer's website. Change the compatibility on the driver for Win 8.

Windows 8 is still new and there are some companies like D-Link which might not have the firmware for their products which are compatible with Windows 8 yet. I tried searching for a firmware for your product and I can't find one.

I suggest that you contact D-Link regarding this issue, they should have the fix for this and I'm sure that a lot of people are experiencing this same issue. This happens when new operating system are produced in the market. http://www.dlink.com.au/corporate/contact/

I also suggest that you install RadarSync in your computer. It's a technician's software. What it does is it automatically updates all outdated drivers in your computer. It works great with Windows 7 and Windows 8.

If a program cannot be run under Windows 7 because of compatibility issues you have to right click on the executable file that will start the application and click Properties. Select Compatibility tab and check the Windows version you know the program worked with before. Do the same for the installer if it wouldn't install. Yes it will work, but not all the features.. there are still some issue regarding the compatibility
