Does your remote have a selection for remote 1,2 or 3? Then make sure your receiver is set the same.

Does your remote operate other devices successfully?

Look at the front of the remote through a camcorder and press a button. You should see flashes to verify it is sending something. (Camcorders can "see" the infra red signals and show them in the viewfinder)

SOURCE: how to connect 6.1 speakers to 7.1 receiver

Using the Onkyo display setup, you can turn off one surround speaker, and your receiver should realize it's using the 6.1 channels instead of the 7.1

If you don't want to go that route, use the mic setup that came in the box and your Onkyo will determine by itself the 6.1 channel layout.

It should work fine.

onkyo UK referred me to their UK repairer called GenServe and they were vary helpful, said it was a common fault!  I just happened to live near GenServe and I took it to them and they fixed it in a couple of hours and as it was still under the 2 year warranty, it was fixed for free.  Not sure where you are in the world, but check out their website www.genserve.co.uk

My NAD T747 keeps shutting down in Protection Mode at 6db when it used to go much louder. I cleaned the unit. Still nothing.

Modern AV receivers such as your NAD have protection circuits to prevent damage when there is a short on the speaker terminals. Look carefully at the speaker connections on the back of the AV receiver- for example, the speaker cable for front left speakers labelled + and - : there should not be any stray strands of wire that connect from + to - ; this would be a short circuit. Check each of the connections on the AV receiver as well as on the back of each of your Speakers themselves. Also ensure all connections are snug (do not use pliers). If this does not solve your problem, you may need to take your AV receiver on for a service checkup. Good luck !

Why does My RC745m remote control does not function?

Most likely, the remote is not properly paired with the device. The manual for either the AV receiver or for the remote itself should have instructions for how to program the remote codes. If you do that and still have issues, the remote itself could be faulty.

Receiver stays on stand by

Turning On and Standby
On the AV receiver, press the [ON/STANDBY] button.
On the remote controller, press the [RECEIVER] button, followed by the
[ON/STANDBY] button.
The AV receiver comes on, the display lights up, and the STANDBY indicator goes off.
To turn the AV receiver off, press the [ON/STANDBY] button, or press the remote
controller's [ON/STANDBY] button. The AV receiver will enter Standby mode.

If you have any trouble using the receiver, a simple reset could solve your problem.Note that resetting the AV receiver will delete your radio presets and custom settings.
To reset the AV receiver to its factory defaults, turn it on and, while holding down the [VCR/DVR] button, press the [ON/STANDBY] button. "Clear" will appear on the display and the AV receiver will enter Standby mode.

NAD T760 remote control

You could buy a universal remote control and try the following NAD audio remote codes to program it with:
NAD
575 773 975

I read somewhere else that the 'Supplied Code for NAD receivers' was 033, but cannot confirm this. Try the first 3 first.

Universal remotes tend to be pretty cheap, certainly cheaper than buying one from NAD.

Good Luck
