Fax Auto Answer

The auto answer on the fax was working fine but has now stopped. Even though the green light for the auto answer is on, we now have to go across to the machine to recieve faxes manually. Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks for that but it doesn't seem to work. The fax test shows everything as ok but the auto answer still does not work.

Is there any way the machine can be reset?

    Hi,

yes , u can try to reset the unit to its factory defaults by performing the following steps .

    1

unplug the power cord from the back of the unit without turning off the printer.

    2

press n hold # key and 6 key together n do not release the keys ,while holding them down plug in the power cord back into the unit.

    3

wait for a few seconds as it would make certain noises and turn off , when the unit turns off release the keys .

    4

after a few seconds turn on the printer , wait as it wud go into initialisation mode > might ask to press 1 for language (please follow instructions ) it would give 2 or 3 allignment sheets.

    5

after its done try to copy , then try to send fax n see if the auto answer button works or not.

note - after the RESET fax seeting are to be done again as it goes to factory default settings .

    Thanks

How do you change the number of rings, so that the fax will pick!

go to menu option and choose the option fax and set the parameter like auto receive or manual set the ring auto answer mode after certain ring. If it is in auto receiving mode it will receive the fax after the ring which you set.
Hope this helps. Please rate my response.
Thanks.
