Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Lost wireless connection in ubuntu laptop

Try recycling the router by unplugging it and plugging it back up.

Maybe you don't have your wireless turned on. Look on both sides and in front for the Wireless Switch and turn it on.

Also once the wireless switch is turned on there are keystrokes that can toggle the wireless on or off. Normally you would Press and Hold the FN function key located at the lower left of the keyboard, then hit the correct F1 thru F12 key that toggles the wireless. The correct F1 thru F12 key to hit will have the wireless signal icon )))) on it. Or it might have the icon of a tower with the wireless signal icon )))). Normally the screen will display Wireless On or Wireless Off when you toggle the wireless.

I need to connect to wireless on my laptop. There is no switch but the keyboard has the F1 key with a wireless sign. How do I turn it on? I have tried it with the Fn key without any luck. Thanks

Hi miksibanda,
Did you try Fn and F1 pressing at same time? On the right bottom side of the of the task bar a wireless signal bars? If you see that the wireless is on. double click a click view wireless network connection. The ssid of your router you will show then connect and enter the wep key or passphrase. I hope this will help you connect wirelessly.

Below is a link for the manual for your machine. It will be useful, however, it will only give you the physical functions for the machine. If you would like yo learn more about the operating system/operation of the machine, you can use the help section in the start menu. You can also open help menus by pressing the F1 key. Let's say you want to know more about your internet explorer, with the internet explorer open press F1 and a help box will open with help topics on internet explorer, if you want general help on the computer, press F1 on at the desktop or main screen with the icons on it. The help section will be useful with all operations. If you get to a place on the web that you're unsure what to do, most web sites have their own help section to guide you through the way their set up. Anyway, like anything else, the more you use it the easier it will get, promise, and you can always come back if you get stumped. Here's the link for the manual, you just have to click on it and it will take you to the page (as long as you're connected to the internet).

When you download this, a box will come up, hit save. Name it and save it to your documents for reference.
