Change Battery Pack _ Ixus 70

After I have have taken only two or three photos the change battery pack message comes up and the camera shuts down
I have tried three different batteries and two different chargers so I assume the problem is the camera not the batteries or chargers
Any suggestions?

Hmmmmm, the only thing I can think of, are you using the correct type batteries ? Check your instruction manual for the correct type of batteries, if you still have a problem I send it in for repair work or return it if it's new. Good Luck

I heve the same problem. I have 5 fully charged batteries and the camera always either will not come on or says battery needs replacing. I tried a few things and found that if I put a piece of tape on the center pin of the batteries, the camera works just great. I don't know if it will tell me now when the battery is low or not. I am wondering if the problem is the charger or the camera.

SOURCE: Battery Problem

I figured out the problem. My AA battery recharger was not making good contact, so although it said the batteries were recharged, this was not the case. After fixing this and getting full recharges, the problem went away.

SOURCE: keep getting change battery message and camera turns off.

Hi,

I had this on mine. If you pen the battery compartment door, you will see a piece of plastic labelled "CR1220". You can pull this out and replace the little CR1220 battery that it holds. That ought to solve your problem.

I have the powershot SD3500IS abd it says i need to change the battery pack what is that and how can i fix it also if i dont have a charer can i charge it with the usb ?

"Change batter pack" means your battery is dead. The camera should have come with a charger in the bok that can plug into the outlet in your wall. It uses a lithium ion battery, so you can't use a regular AA batter charger, for instance. You cannot charge the battery via the usb into your computer.

Canon Powershot SD780 - Change the Battery Pack!!! AARRRGGGHH!!

Actually, the problem here is that there isn't enough pressure on the battery. You need to put a small piece of cardboard on the battery facing the door to the battery chamber. That will force the battery onto the contacts a bit more.
Give it a try. It should work. That's how I got rid of the same error message.

The LCD monitor setting was lost after changed battery pack

Take a picture with the new battery pack. Is the picture also blank? Are the menu selections still visible in the LCD? Have you tried pressing the DISP button on the back, but the screen still remains blank?

If the answer is yes to these three questions, this sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check this link for more info.

Change battery pack

How old is your battery? The rechargeable LI-ion battery is only meant to last a couple years at most. If your battery is a couple years old (or longer) it's probably time to consider a new battery.

Fortunately, due to the popularity of Canon cameras, generic versions of the NB-4L battery for your camera are widely available. This makes them very inexpensive. Recommend looking for one on Amazon with good user ratings. Here's some suggestions.

Where to check for the abttery display option

When the battery is low or insufficient the message " Change the battery pack" displays.
You can then insert a fully charged battery into the camera or use the AC adapter Kit to charge the battery.
On long trips, it is recommended to keep an additional fully chaged battery along with you so that you are not caught without any charge!!

Battery Problem after very few Photos

Very likely Take batteries out and with the eraser at the end of the pencil gently polish the contacts. Do the same with the lid contacts plate. Close it and try. If it will only work with the lid being pressed try this Take a piece of foil and lay it across the batteries then close the lid this will help pack out the contact. BE careful however if the contact plate covers 4 batteries and is in two pieces make sure there are two separate pieces and do not let them touch
