Question about Canon Elura 60 Mini DV Digital Camcorder
Our Elura 60 stopped taking still pictures. Pressing the photo button makes no sound and does nothing.
I noticed the remote control icon and turned it off. Now I see the REMOTE OFF icon constantly on the screen, but still - no still.
Another icon that appears constantly is the shake control icon. Even when the camera stands still on the table...
Any clue? Have I messed up with any settings?
Thanks in advance,
That worked for me!! Thank you so much!

I had a similar problem with zoom being stuck and also not being able to take a still. I tried the suggestion of whacking it in the area of the zoom and photo button and it started working.
I just tapped it with two fingers. Sounds odd but it worked. good luck

Tips for a great answer:
Jun 17, 2011 | Samsung S5620 Cell Phone
Nov 09, 2008 | Canon Elura 60 Mini DV Digital Camcorder
Mar 10, 2008 | Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W80 Digital Camera
I contacted Canon about this same issue in my Elura 65, and they said to send it to them, they would have their techs investigate the cause and then contact me with the costs to make the repairs. They said that if I didn't want them to repair the problem, after I found out the cost, that they would reassemble the camera and send it back.
Mine is out of warranty, even with buying it at Costco, who doubles the warranty time. In my researching the problem, I have found another person with the same problem who had it repaired for something like $175. I will weigh that against purchasing a newer model.
Someone else did reccommend wacking in on the top a few times, shutting if off and turning it back on, and that would often fix the problem. I don't want to take the chance of ruining an important shot that may not come around again, by having to Indian Leg Wrestle my camera to get it to work. Best wishes.
