Question about Vacuums
Could the debris from plaster sanding cause my rainbow series D4c vacuum not to work? If so how is the best way to clean it?
You should never vacuum up drywall dust, sheetrock dust, talcum powder, or fireplace ash with your Rainbow. These are "non-wettables". Some of it can stick inside the motor parts, and some might blow out through the exhaust, back into the air you breathe (cough-cough).

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. The Rainbow D4C will still work but not @ the highest efficiency rating – the suction will be reduced because the sheetrock dust gets into the motor and the fan blade(s) Quan 3 and would need a professional cleaning 1st or 2nd. Replacement of the motor; if it is too serious and or too expensive. It’s a good vacuum back it is suggested that people use a good Shop Vac for the sheetrock dust removal. Feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or you can try to repair and change out the fans, clean out the carbon brush area and cleanup the armature. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
