My Dell 720 photo printer will not communicate with my new dell computer. I have windows 7.

first purely uninstall and restart download correct driver from dell and install driver without connect printer.once installation completed your computer ask printer then connect it will be ready

Is there a usb cable that plugs into the laptop? I would start there.

If you bought a new computer it probably has Windows 7 installed and the Dell 720 may not be compatible. You can try downloading the Vista drivers from Dell here. They may work with Windows 7. If not, you'll need to replace the printer with a later, Windows 7 compatible one.

The problem could be because of ONE out of FOUR problems listed below. Try the steps recommended and it should fix the problem.

• Drivers Issue: Try uninstalling the printer drivers using the utility http://ftp.us.dell.com/printer/R166248.zip .Then install the drivers from the support website. • Firewall Issue: Maybe your firewall is blocking the connection to your printer. Try allowing access to all applications related to Dell or printer or communication systems under Program Permissions in your Firewall program.

it is a logic card problem.so pls checked it from service center.

All printers are compatible to a degree.

What operating system are you running on your dell 1521 laptop? What drivers are supported on your Dell 720 printer?

If you are running Windows Vista on your laptop and there are only drivers for your printer up until Windows XP and nothing is on Dell's website for your printer in terms of drivers, then you can only try to run Windows Vista in Compatibility Mode.

If this doesn't work, then you'll need to get a new printer.

when you print, make sure you have the printer set to "Dell 720".

The cable that you need to connect it to the computer is a USB cable.
All new printers don't come with them.

I am guessing that the instal disk that you used was not for VISTA? Download and instal the VISTA driver from the DELL websie for you model printer, below:

Go out to Lexmark web site and look for a vista update in their software download section. So this should solve your problem.Most of the cds which come with equipment do not contain vista software and drivers.
