I loaded adobe reader X to replace reader 9. Many of the features I depended on in 9 are missing from X. Especially save as jpeg and convert to Word. Can you help get me back to 9?

It is not recommended to go back because of security and bug fixes. you can open pdf's in libreoffice draw and then export then to jpg.

Tip

My Pictures Slideshow screensaver

Make use of the Windows XP's My Pictures Slideshow screensaver for this purpose. Follow the steps:
Using Paint brush (mspaint.exe), create 10 or more images with a Black background in each. Open each image file and embed your company logo in it, in (place it in random areas, one in each image).
Create a folder for the image files you've created, and place the images in that folder. Assign this folder read-only permissions for all the users.
Now, configure the screensaver under your user profile. In the My Pictures Screensaver properties, do the following:
Set the folder where you've stored the image files
Set the interval using How often should the pictures change slider.
Uncheck all the checkboxes at the bottom of the dialog
Click OK and save the changes
Set the Screensaver Timeout to a preferred value in minutes
Test the Screensaver in your profile to see everything is fine

My xp does not work well. the screensaver does not appear. It can not repair itself.

Hello, there can be multiple causes and solutions to this type of problem you have but my guess is that there is a service not running properly for the screensaver as in THIS Microsoft article.

To view services to see if the Human Interface driver is working go to start->Run->type in the box "services.msc" without the double quotes, and then find the service mentioned in the microsoft article.

OR you can use the registry editor to modify your screensaver settings (PLEASE ASK FOR FURTHER HELP OR CLARIFICATION WITH THIS / USE WITH CAUTION IF YOU DONT KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE DOING).

SImple example: Go to start->Run-> type in "regedit" and then go to the following registry entry/folder: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\ there you can find the screensaver key named:ScreenSaveActive, if set to 0 set it to 1 and vice versa to enable/disable screensaver modify settings. Problem in internet explorer 9

IE 9 is in Beta ... that means 'expect troubles'. The warning that comes with IE 9 says this almost exactly and tells you that if you are not willing to put up with the bugs to not download it nor use it. I can tell you from my own experience, no financial program will operate in conjunction with IE 9 - I had it and I got rid of it. I don't want ANY TROUBLES with my files, my computer or any other aspect relating to finances.

When MS releases IE 9, it will be as bug free as any new cutting edge technology. Until it is proven, I'm not going to use it.

Thankd for using FixYa.com today ... I hope this addresses your issue.

Desktop screen saver was not full screensize, so i set to maximum setting 200% and now the whole thing is too big and desktop icons way too big to work with, how can I get into system to reset or...

It sounds like you changed your desktop background resolution settings and not the screensaver. Right-click on your desktop on any clear area that doesnt have an icon and if this is WinXP select properties, or if Vista select personalize. Select the settings tab and you should see a screen resolution adjustment slider that will allow you to change your screen rsolution which intur affects the size of all your icons etc. Select the size that suits you. 1080 X 786 is a good place to start. You're probably set to 800 X 600 right now.

What can cause lag on facebook? it only happens when i'm chatting

1) Your chat program is eating all your CPU, you can check on TaskManager
2) Your chat program is eating all your bandwidth, have a look at the little network icon to see how much bandwidth is being used while you are chatting.
3) Is your chat stickam or something? You can't fix that, it's because flash sucks.
4) A poor quality route in your home or at your ISP. Some operate on a first come first serve basis and will keep trying to prioritize connections opened first.
