Question about Microsoft Zune JS8-00001 Digital Media Player

Zune Video Not Appearing In Interface

I just synced 7 fairly small WMV files to my 30 gig Zune, the standard way, going through the Zune software, but the thing is, when i unplug my Zune after it's finished, and go to the Video section, it's not there. I even navigated to the right folder (I have the Zune in Explorer hack), the video files are there, they're the right resolution, and i even copied them off the device onto my computer, and they work fine! I've deleted the files through the interface, and re-synced them about 4 times now, and it's still not showing up. Idk what to do. I converted the video files before i entered them into the Zune interface, and the video codec was WMV7, and the audio codec was wma, the resolution for all of them was like 384 by 288, and they had fairly small file sizes (but still whole, as i found out when i copied them off the device). Ok, weird, i just went back to the video folder in explorer, to get the specs of the files on the device, and the video files are GONE. They still show up in the Zune interface, but they're not there.

Sorry to be all over the board, but its late, i'm rambling this off as i think of it, and im kinda freaked about this.

PLEASE HELP
Thank You

I am about to simply reformat, because i have all the music and everything else on my computer, and see if that helps. I'll update in a few hours.

I have just encountered a similar problem. I recorded a couple of TV shows from Vista MC and synced to my Zune 30. Shows up on device on the software but can't find them on the device. From the storage stats on the Zune itself, the number of videos on the device seem to indicate the shows are there but they're not visible on the list.

Please let me know if your reformatting fixed it.

Tip

Reset 30 gig zune

if your zune locks up it is more than likely a bad music or sound file. the best way to unfreeze your 30 gig zune don't laugh it works by putting your zune in the freezer to clear memory and batery.
step1. put it in the freezer for 1 hr
step 2. remove from freezer and allow to come to room temp
step3. plug in and recharge fully
step 5. reload music on zune

Why can't I find Coby MP826?

I did some research on this product and apparently it plays WMV video files. I found Wmv Converter Portable v2.5 its a free WMV converter that will allow you to get video into the proper format for your player. When you run the program, its very simple, pick a file for conversion, under video size, select 480x272, then select the output path as your MY VIDEOS folder and click OK. We choose this folder because windows media player should search this folder. As for Music, as long as they are in MP3 or WMA format they can go straight on. Click on the sync tab in windows media player and follow the directions. and you should be good to go! as for the sample music and random documents... why bother. hope this helps.

Down loading movies?

Hey Chappy 2,

Due to the copy protection encoded into most DVD's, you won't be able to use the standard drag-and-drop interface that many MP3 players use if you are looking to copy a movie file onto your player. Additionally, most DVD's will contain movie files in a format that may not be able to be recognized by the Zune itself (such as .VOB and .IFO file types).

According to information provided by the manufacturer, the Zune currently supports .W4V, .MP4, and .WMV file formats while providing limited support .MOV (QuickTime) video files. Unfortunately this means that in order to copy a movie file over to your Zune, it would need to be present on the DVD or your computer in one of these recognizable formats.

Hope this helps you out.

Sincerely,
Aaron

Not able to download songs

well first of all, I suggest that,, convert first the song or video that you have downloaded from other sites, it's file type maybe such as FLV file,, or flash video file,, convert it to WMV, WMA, or MP3 then after converting it, try to drag it to your collections then right click sync, then,, I think that would be the time that it will be saved unto your Zune Device,, Note:,, Zune only supports file types such as WMV, WMA, MP3, and JPG,, SO be sure to convert the file first to any of those supported files so that it will automatically be saved unto your Zune Device,, if you have more questions,, just email me at,, ynchausti07@hotmail.com

DVD to Zuine

just google "Zune video converter" to get ahold of a converter... the first link is usually fine...

After you get the conversion you just toss the converted file into a folder monitored by the Zune software and it will pick it up automatically. From there you right click the name of the file in the Zune software and click "transfer to zune"

There you go...
