Broadcom 802.11 g/b WLAN Problem

Hello. On May 31st, 2008, my wireless adapter started losing connection to my secure wireless connection. I have a Linksys Broadcom 802.11 g/b wireless adapter. My flash disk had my wirelesss settings on it, but when I put them in, it still does not connect. It says my wireless adapter's radio funtcion is off. I'm not entirely sure what that is, but my external switch is on, confirming it with a blue light. I have a HP Pavilion dv6000 labtop. Windows XP SP2. Please help me!

i have the same problem exept the only reason why i can go on the internet is because i have a Verizon which isnt that fast and is always having something wrong with it. but when i go to my network places > properties> to enable it its not even there. all thats there is: Nation acces broadband accsess (my verizon card) local area connection and the 1394 connection.

I've tried a bunch of downloads such as the driver ones and bios ones but none of them seem to work. Also at times when im on the computer for s long time or its on for a while the switch will randomly turn blue and find networks. But then my computer starts getting real slow and it comes to the point where i cant even click the start button o i have to hold the power button down. Then when my computer is back on, the switch is orange again... all i know is the only thing i havent tried to fix it is the mother board one, HP saids if you call them and you still have a warenty on your computer they will do what they can or something, i don't remember. Oh yeah one last thing: DO NOT GET A VERIZON CARD FOR YOUR INTERNET , its to slow. Thanks!

I have a laptop running 802,11 g/b and vista and I Cant connect to linksys wag160n wireless router(802,11 n). laptop sometimes recognises network but when I try to connect it wont. could you help ?

Hi, You cannot connect across wireless protocols. In other words to connect to 802.11 n you need an "n" adapter.

Now, the router should be backward compatible & provide wireless g/b but you may find that when you search for networks it will be listed as a seperate network name (from the same router)

Try searching for this other network. Your router documentation should advise you of its default name & any set up process

I have limited connectivity. Both my Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Controller and Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN Mini-Card drivers are up to date.

make sure the access point or router is on DHCP then connect the computer, but if its on dynamic IP... them enter an IP in range of what you have on your AP/Router

Problem with driver Broadcom 802.11 b/g WLAN Adapter

I found a parcial solution. Every day when I turn laptop on the driver or wireless adapter does not work and it is not in Device Manager folder. I reinstall every day the driver downloaded from HP site, making clic en setup. Then, I can work. But, next day the wireless adapter disapears. I do not know why. So, the parcial solution is reinstall everyday the wireless adapter downloaded.

Notebook won't connect to network

1) Verify if Wi-Fi WLAN interface of your notebook is OK.
1a) Check whether HW switch is ON and the wireless system service is running.
1b) Switch on the WLAN Access Point (router) SSID broadcasting.
1c) Scan WLAN networks by the notebook. Can you see your home WLAN? If not, there is HW or SW problem in your wireless adapter probably. If WLAN is visible, continue by next steps.

2) Remove all WLAN security on both sides (AP and notebook): Authentication = none/open, encrytption = none.
3) Activate DHCP server in the router and set the dynamic IP assigning on WLAN notebook interface.
4) Select your home WLAN SSID in the list and try to connect.
5) Wait and check status. Is WLAN connected? Does obtain the notebook an IP address?
6) In success case set the WLAN security.

My system is not detecting my broadcom network adapter 802.11 b/g WLAN

Is this a new installation or an existing adapter?

If new, make sure it's seated correctly in the pci slot.

When you plug the network cable in does the light on the adapter come on? If not, then your adapter is dead and it's going to need replaced.
