Might be that the USB Port you're plugging the webcam into is USB1.1 and the camera is USB 2????

look at the port on the computer.. is it Black Plastic or White... If Black It is USB 1 if White...USB2...

Might be that causing the freeze up... Hope it helps

Just did this with my daughter and it worked:

1. Turn PC on.
2. Plug camera cable into Camera.
3. Plug camera cable USB end into computer USB port.
4. Turn on Camera... wait until camera show message 'USB, PC, Pictbridge'.
5. PC should be selected if not select by highlighting and press shutter button.
6. Press 'Shutter' button.
7. Window 'Autoplay' appears on PC. Select 'import' in Autoplay window.
8. Another window will ask you to name your picture folder. Give it a name.
9. The pictures download to the picture folder automatically.
10. Turn the camera off and disconnect cable from camera and from the PC
11. ENJOY!!

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use Nikon Transfer or any other photo cataloging program.

Did you connect the camera before installing the software program? If you did, disconnect the camera from the USB Port and reinstall the software program. When the program asks you to reconnect the printer, then plug the cable back into the USB port and it shoould function properly.

Hope this is of some help. Bud

Help with camera

Try a different usb port.
1>connect the cord to the computer
2>connect the cord to the camera
3>turn the camera on.

Disconnect in the same way, or you may damage your camera.

Also don't forget to check batteries.

Won't let me download photos onto my computer

I am no expert. however, I would respectfully suggest you check the USB lead and if that is fine you might unistall the Fuifilm software completely from you PC and then reinstall it from the CD's that cam e with the camera. The card is only a storage item and from what you say it has stored the information. Hope this assists you. Brian
