Who said you have to pay to ask a question? Advice here is free, but it's not always coming from a technician.
If your oven is making a loud noise and not heating, failure of the magnetron tube that makes the microwaves is the most frequent cause. If they short out (a common failure), the oven usually makes a loud groaning sound when you run it. There are a couple of other possibilities, but most other part failures result in a fuse blowing so that the oven would be completely dead.
If the oven is a basic counter-top model, you're best off simply replacing it. They are so inexpensive now that it just isn't worth spending money on a repair. A new magnetron is likely to cost nearly what a new oven would, not including any repair labor. (This is one of the reasons I'm no longer in the repair business. It's hard to make a buck now.) If this is a high-end model, an over-the-range type, or a custom built-in, then you might want to have a technician come out and give an estimate for repair. Yes, you'll have to pay for that, but it might be worth the cost.
I do not recommend trying to repair a microwave yourself. If not done properly, the repair can lead to excessive microwave leakage, and there are potentially lethal voltages present with the cover off. For safety's sake, let a professional do the repair if you want to keep this oven.
