Fios Wireless Drops

I have the same problem where my wireless drops every few seconds. I tried to uncheck the v.6 that you suggested, but it still does the same thing.

New to Verizon FiOS. XP laptops are screaming, but lone Acer 5220 Vista disconnecting and reconnecting every minute or so. I have turned off Acer Emanager, set rate to Auto and dropped v6 protocol. Still no fixie. I will say when it is connected it is hitting the upperspeed boundary. Will reloading the wireless driver get me anywhere?

There are certain routers that Verizon supplies that have a compatability issue with Acer computers running vista........The tech guy I talked to sat and used my pc as a guniea pig and figured out that if you drop the beacon rate from 100 to about 20 it will stay connected..........after I get more info on the numbers i will be sure to post them here.

Internal wireless is a hassle and does that on many models.
get an external pc wireless card and the issue will disappear.
you can run with both at the same time.
it fixed my issue for same system.

Hi
If the Internet connection frequently drops, It could be wired or wireless.
If it is wired connection u can try the following troubleshooting steps
1) connect Modem-Router-Computer
2) Open router UI (www.routerlogin.net)
3) User name : admin , Password: password
4) on the left hand side in the blue panel select WAN setup & reduce the MTU to 1400 & click apply.
if the problem still continues upgrade the firmware of the router.
This should resolve the problem

Internet connection frequently drops, don't know why. Still connected to router, though not getting internet. Unplugging wireless adapter and plugging it back in fixes the problem...temporarily.

ACER 5720 WIRELESS CONNECTION PROBLEMS

Sounds like a bad router or antenna. Try replacing the antenna or checking the connection of the antenna on the router. Have your ISP replace the router and the problem should go away.

NETGEAR WG111T 108 MBPS WIRELESS USB 2.0 ADAPTER stopped working

What are you trying to connect your USB wireless device to?
Is it to a wireless hot spot?
or to a Wireless Access Point/Router?
When you find a connection, what is the signal strength?
I assume you have configured your Access Point correctly as well as making it secure. You should connect a computer to the Access Point using a network 10BaseT cable to check the Access Point configuration, especially the wireless configuration.

If you are trying to connect to a wireless Access Point and you have a weak signal, move your computer closer to the Access Point or move the Access Point to a better and higher location to give you a better wireless coverage. Note, walls can affect the wireless signals between the Access Point and the wireless network card and wireless USB device, especially reinforced concrete walls.
