There are certain routers that Verizon supplies that have a compatability issue with Acer computers running vista........The tech guy I talked to sat and used my pc as a guniea pig and figured out that if you drop the beacon rate from 100 to about 20 it will stay connected..........after I get more info on the numbers i will be sure to post them here.

Get onlineand got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "AcerSupport" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operatingsystem when requested. Download and install the drivers.
Hi, did you get this problem resolved? I am having the same issues but cannot seem to find anything to resolve. I have a hp g70 running vista. Sometimes the connection can be stable for hours but then other times it disconnects every few minutes. I know the router is working fine as I have 2 other laptops that never drop the connection and my ps3 and phone always stay connected as well. Thinking now that I have got to take it back
There are some wireless card which doesn't support verizon fios.Check out if your Card is supported or not.if not supported ask their Customer service for a USB wireless Card Brand and its specification which with work fine with verizon fios.
Those pieces if data come from your FiOS gear. On the bottom of the FiOS Wireless and network set, is a serial number, and associated with that is another number, call it your password, but together they are the profile and Password with which you gain access to the FiOS Network, to allow you to get out to the Internet.
Check all installation papers you got from Verizon, as that information should be there, or call their help line. They are usually pretty good in helping you and FiOS is not off-shore, so you will get a good response.
can you pull up your router, I had this with an acer last week, I had set it up on my router then taken it to the clients house and it wouldn't work, the thing was that it never droped my router and was in the my network places several times. as soon as I realized that I deleted all of the routers and anything that wasn't supposed to be there and just went to make a new connection and bingo i worked. also don't forget the encryption key if you put one in you will need it to get on you network, good luck
I have an Acer 5420 which had a persistent disconnection problem after startup, with either the wireless or LAN connection. It appears that the Microsoft network application would startup and make the connection, but seconds later the Acer Enet Management application would start, and its first act would be to disconnect from the Internet. Since the Microsoft network application provides every feature that I want, I choose to disable the Acer Enet Management.
Following up on a hint from on of the posts, I went to Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Command Prompt.
At the command prompt window, I typed msconfig
About a minute later (after Vista confirmed that it was OK to run this program, the System Configuration window comes up, where I selected the "services" tab
Scrolling down the numerous services, I found "eNet service" and clicked the check mark to disable the service. Hit apply and OK, and restarted my laptop.
