Canon i950 will not reset counter for waste tank full.....

Hi! I have done the press buttons solution maybe 20 times, to no avail.
Still my canon i950 flashes 7 orange and 1 green. We did open it and clean and dry those pads 'waste ink tanks'. It was printing beautifully until this error. Help!

I have learned this is a 'replace print head' problem.

    Can I clean this myself?

  • 2indigo Jul 18, 2008

I finally replaced the printhead, at the cost of about $80. Now it works perfectly, again. It was worth it, since it does photos.

Canon mp780 -waste ink near full??

Dear mr perfect,
Few days ago I have answered the same question about this for Canon MP700. Here is my answer:
Waste ink absorber capacity of your printer has rise to about 90-95 %. Tentatively, you can continue printing by pressing STOP/RESET button. When ink absorber capacity reach about 100%, the printer stop working and message 'Waste Ink Tank is Full' appears.
To fix this problem, you need to reset waste ink counter. It strongly recommended that you replace waste ink absorber after resetting waste ink counter.
Here are steps resetting waste ink counter of this printer:
  • With the machine power off, while pressing STOP/RESET button, press and hold the ON/OFF button. (Do not release the buttons).
  • While holding ON/OFF button, release the STOP/RESET button. (Do not release the ON/OFF button).
  • While holding the ON/OFF button, press the STOP/RESET 2 times and then release all buttons. (Each time STOP/RESET is pressed, the alarm LED and COPY lights alternately starting with alarm LED).
  • When the COPY button lights in green, press STOP/RESET button 4 times. (Each time STOP/RESET is pressed, the alarm LED and COPY lights alternately starting with alarm LED).
  • Turn off the printer.
Your printer should work normally now.
Regards,
