Thanks...But I did find a way to do it. I have several songs on my hard drive. I moved them to the memory card, and then was able to use them as a ring tone. Simply choose browse in the setup and it will find all your songs. then save it...try it...awesome

The first response is the best. You can save any song to your memory card (not in the music files of the Blackberry) and then use it as a ring tone. Up up the music file on the phone and push the menu button and it will give you the option

U can Bluetooth ringtones as well. You just have to access the right menu to receive the tones. Be careful not to fill up your BBs memory if you don't have an expansion card though. Go to profiles, click the menu button, and choose receive via bluetooth and your set. No cost involved.

You cannot save a ringtone, picture, or music to a SIM card. Those files get saved to the "hard drive" of the phone. In order to get music into your phone to use as a ringtone, you must either

1. Download through one of those pay for services like Jamster or through t-zones or the like.

2. Use a data connection plan to download from the "mobile net". Sites are free that let you upload your music to an address that you can go to on your mobile web and download to your phone. The phone usually knows where to download the ringtone to on its own. T-mobile's t-zones costs $5.99 a month for the mobile web.

3. Use a USB connector and the media managing software for the phone to transfer the file to your phone. The Motorola RZR uses a software called Motorola Phone Tools to do this. The Blackberry also has its own Blackberry User Tools Software. Usually, the software shows you the "folders" on the phone and one will be called "tones". You put it there and it comes up in your list of ringtones.

Blackberry Curve 8310 loading ringtones

Two ways:

1. Use the included Blackbery Desktop software and run "Media Manager". This will let you transfer any song on your computer over to the BB.

2. You can mount the BB as a drive in Windows and just copy the music file over directly. (This may only work if you have a media card installed -- might not work with built-in memory only.)

After copying the music over use the included Media application to try to play it. Once it plays in Media Manager you can be sure it will play as a ring tone.

Use the "Profiles" application and select "Advanced." Scroll to the "Tune" setting and select it. Scroll to the top of the list and select "Browse..." From there you can select the song and it will be a ringtone.

You can also set a ringtone individually for a contact in the address book. Edit the person's contact info and choose a custom ring tone at the bottom of the Edit screen.
