I do have the same problem I have replaced the cartridge and gone through about 10 deep cleanings. All I have accomplished is to use up most of the other cartridges. I still can't print reds. Ohter colors look ok at this time.

My red won't print either and the ink tank is full. I have run all of the cleaning operations and it's not working still.

Any documents on the computer that you want to print will not print. The print head nozzles go across the paper but no ink is sprayed onto the paper. I tried the copier feature. It did not work in black ink but did in color ink. I just deep cleaned the nozzles. The printer is about 4 years old but works well.

Ip4000 printer prints but with horizontal lines

Cannon recommend a cleaning process called deep head cleaning

  1. Open the Printers folder.

    - For Windows XP select 'Start', 'Control Panel', 'Printers and Other Hardware', and 'Printers and Faxes'.
    - For Windows versions other than Windows XP select 'Start', 'Settings', and 'Printers'.

  2. Right-click the printer icon and select 'Properties'.

  3. Click the Maintenance tab, and then click the 'Deep Cleaning' icon.

  4. Select the ink tank color(s) for deep cleaning ('All Colors', 'Black', or 'Color').

  5. Confirm the message, and then click the 'Execute' button.

  6. The Power lamp will blink and print head deep cleaning will start. Deep cleaning completes when the Power lamp stops blinking and lights. (It will take about a minute for the Power lamp to stop blinking and light solid.)

  7. Print a Nozzle Check Pattern by holding down the <Resume> on the printer until the Power light flashes twice to determine if further cleaning is necessary. Up to three deep cleanings may be necessary to determine if the print head is working properly

Canon pixma ip4000 color not printing correctly with full inks

In both cases be sure using correct ink. Use of generic ink can lead to leakage of catrridge seats do to crossion from inferrior ink quality (per Cannon). Be sure ink in proper locations - see manual. Run the maintenance proceedures: cleaning then print nozzle pattern. If all colors are not proper after two or three cleanings, perform deep cleaning. Print nozzle pattern after each cleaning. This should clear up problem. If not, print head may need replacement.

Canon Pixma iP4000 prints all color prints with a cyan cast.

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud
