Canon MP830 My printer makes a black stripe down the center of the back of the page when printing.  I have tried all the suggested cleaning solutions, and none seems to cure the problem.  Any ideas?

When copying with the automative document feeder, I get a vertical line down the right side of the page. This does not occur when I copy from the glass platen.

When the print head is in the center of the machine it is dropping black ink on the lower exit roller, the 1/4 inch black on the back side od the print or copy will go away after 8 to 10 pages after the roller cleans itself. The ink and print head have been changed with no improvement, it seems that the black ink is being drawn out while the machine is at idle.

Having the exact same problem. Changed ink cartridges, did a deep cleaning and still a dark black stripe down the back of the paper after sitting for a while. The Problem goes away after 8-10 pages, but resumes as soon as you pause printing.

You most likely have some ink residue on the pickup, feed, or registration rollers for the problem to be on the back of the page. Use a flashlight and a q-tip moistened with isopropyl alcohol to swab all of the rollers in the paper path and see where the higest concentration is. You could also try to LIGHTLY dampen a sheet of paper with alcohol and print a "Blank" page a few times with it then do the same with fresh paper.

CANON MP830 wont print PDF from email

It may be that you need an Apple/Mac Driver for the Canon Printer. Check with MAC and then suggest you check with Canon . If I come up with further solutions I'll be in touch. Good Luck.

Black stripe down back of page, replaced all ink tanks but still have problem - is it the printhead?

Not the printhead, it is waste ink coming up under the exit rollers. You need the printer cleaned and a mylar shield installed under the printer to keep it from happening again. In our shop it would be just a labor charge of $69.00 to repair.

When printing, a black stripe is printed on the back side of the printed pages (about 1/4'' wide, running from top to bottom). The ink strip bleeds through to obscure printed side. Any suggestions?

You need to have the exit rollers cleaned at a shop, and a mylar strip added to keep that from happening again. It's the ink from the cleaning station backing up thru the exit rollers.

Cannon Pixma MP830 - smearing on front when printing

If you have taken it apart that far then you are way ahead of the game. My suggestion would be to clean the head or anything the ink touches in a vinegar/water solution. The vinegar dissolves any dried ink whereas the soap may actually gum things up. If that doesn't work or improve things I would say that your print head has a seal problem. The replacement print heads are worth more than a new printer so you can probably figure out whats cheaper to do.

In copy or scan mode, the page is almost all solid black

The scan assembly has gone out. Parts are not available except the entire scan assembly, I can get you a part number and price if you like.

PIXMA MP830 is Printing Stripes

Really sounds like the black portion of your print head is clogged. Do the "deep clean" on the black head a couple of times. If it's still not working you may have either a bad head or a clogged purge unit.
Clogged purge units are very common on inkjets.

You can try soaking the bottom of the head on a very wet paper towel overnight. Retry using the head the next day and see if the black is working (print more text documents).

If that doesn't work, you'll have to find a way to check the purge unit/capping assembly under the home position of the head. It will require taking the unit apart and removing the purge unit and cleaning it. Make sure the two tubes are not clogged, Use a piece of wire and feed it through the tubes to try and remove any dried ink.

If you're not into trying to take the unit apart, it's time for a service shop or a replacement printer

Stripes on Images only - Text OK

Perhaps the CMY color heads need alignment. If you have not already done so, run a head alignment from the driver maintenance section. It will print out a page containing several lines and text, and request you select the closest-aligned images. After this is done, do another image print to check for improvements.
Normally, the printer uses the black cartridge for text and the CMY inks for images (even for black on photo and specialty paper). So when you are printing normal text pages on plain paper, only the black ink is used. A good check for this would be to print a normal text page, but select photo paper in the driver to trick the printer into using the CMY inks to make a substitute black text page. If this looks ok, then you are having issues other than cartridge alignment.

Heavy black stripe on back side of every printed page

This is probably due to miss alignment, there is an option of test page which will be scanned to allign the cartridge, if ur's a all in one printer. This test page is printed at the first time and scanned instantly for first time operation.

Thankyou
