Question about Brother HL-2070N Laser Printer
I noted that you replied to someone else on this problem and you said the gears were out of alignment. How do I go about fixing that particular problem? The manual feed is fine. Just the paper tray won't feed.
I had the same problem with 2 of the 2070N printers. Solution was that the paper tray was setting to tight against the paper pushing it tight up to the front of the tray. Back the rear support up so there is maybe 1/16 inch clearance between the paper and the end of the tray. No more feed problems.

Try cleaning the feed. you may have to remove the black gear with a spring on it temporarily to get the feed spun around... do not remove any pins from the gears these are timing, and as I fix copiers for a living, I have experience with timming.. it isn't for the novice, unless they understand the copier(printer)
cleaning feed is 90 percent of our jamming issues in the industry. You may also get ahold of brother solutions and get new feed and install them.. but brother didn't make this an easy chore. :P

If you're running this printer over ethernet, try setting the ip address to static, then configure the driver to the same address, as well as ensuring that you're printing RAW to port 9100. Took me an hour to figure it out, but happily printing from multiple machines now.
