Hello,

I am sorry to hear about your misfortune. Unless you changed some sound settings right before that happened then the likely cause is that your tv's internal speakers have blown. Which will cause that really faint sound even when the volume is all the way up.

If your TV has an audio out connection you can try hooking it up to surround sound or a receiver with some speakers. You may be able to use your tv this way and get sound.

Otherwise you will have to make use of your warranty if the TV is still covered. If not then there is nothing more I can suggest. Repair cost might be more than hooking it up to an external sound system.

Post back if you have any further questions or comments.Thank you for choosing Fixya.

No sound

Looks like there is some damage to components/board inside. Might require attention by a qualified service technician.

WHEN TV IS TURNED ON IT SHOWS WELL FOR ABOUT 10 MIN THEN THERE ARE LINE ON SCREEN BUT THE SOUND IS STILL THERE

It sounds like part of the video subsystem is overheating.

If you see one horizontal line in the middle of the screen, it is probably the high voltage fly-back transformer.

Do you hear a snapping or popping noise when the picture is lost?

I had the same problem. Do you have a cable box for digital TV? do you have a remote from the cable company? that is programmed to control the TV? get the cable company to unlock the sound control from it (a 3 number code) put your sound up to maximum if you can if you hear faint sound repeat above you should be able to hear the tv then then go to the sound settings and adjust as needed get the cable company to check the box in cas it has been zapped by lighting good luck
