Try a new power supply. I also had a cf27 recently that the power switch had gone out, but most commonly it's the supply.

Clear / reset BIOS password on a Panasonic Toughbook CF-53

You can usually reset the BIOS password by unplugging the CMOS battery and all other power sources.
Then turn the computer on with power plugged in (not the CMOS battery though).
After computer has booted up, turn off again, plug CMOS battery back in and password should have reset.

Tutorial on how to do this can be found under soloution 2 of this link:

I just got this neat little Panasonic Toughbook CF-27EB with a PII 300mhz. I upgraded the memory to 320 mb and added a USB external CD-ROM. I would like to upgrade the Windows 98 OS but the USB CD drive is...

Probably not ...

YOu can make a bootable CD ... directions everywhere on the WWW ... google "bootable CD" for specifics.

Will your new computer run on XP? Check and/or the Panasonic web site for this answer. You can also visit for a compatability test.

I have a panasonic CF-27EB and USB wont work.

Your port is probably damaged. Are you saying all USB devices are not working through the ports or a particular device is not working? Give me more detail please.

2 beeps no display model cf-27eb

This POST error could mean BIOS error or a system board failure.
I suggest you replace the BIOS battery and configure the BIOS date and time etc. If this doesn't work then reseat the RAM modules.
If this doesn't work, take the RAM module/s to youe friendly computer shop to get them to test the RAM.
If all this fails then most likely the laptop's motherboard is dead.

Unable to reset bios password

You will need to physically look at the motherboard, and next to the battery there will be a jumper and it will be on 2 of 3 available pins. Move the jumper to the other two and leave it for about 30 seconds. Replace it to the original two pins and then turn on the computer and enter BIOS as normal. Password should have been removed.
