Question about Sony KDF-E60A20 60 in. LCD HDTV
Hi, I have been fighting this TV for a week now. It shut down showinging 4 blinks. I have replaced the thermal fuse, the lamp and cleaned three of the four fans. I can't figure out how to get to fan 178708111. Also on this TV, the H4 board is not located where the service manual shows?
The fans were dusty and the fan178706511 was really dusty.
The screne still shows fan problem?
VERY Easy to change!!! We took the back off and on the right side by the fan is where it connects, just like KimSm said.. My husband called the shop and they wanted to charge 100 to come and look at it, 100 to take it with him if needed, 50 a night storage fee, 600-700 to fix it... He went as far to tell my husband there was no way we could fix it ourselves, there was soldering involved, circuit boards involved.. All lies!!! I just happened to stumble across this website and I am glad I did.. Saved a bunch of money. Thanks Everyone!!! Harley_Diva

a 6x blinking error code is usually the thermal fuse located above the lamp housing on the light engine. probable cause of failure is clogged fan located in same area or poor ventilation because set is to close to wall [unit requires minimum of 4 inches of clearance]. part # is 1-910-023-93. another possibility but less likely is the gm board which drives the lamp voltage. part # is a1109407a.

It was as simple as replacing the lamp. It took just minutes and the TV works like new. I had to adjust he picture for the increased brightness level.
