Hotpoint wma37 washes clothes ok but wont drain or spin

the hotpoint has a saftey factor built into it if the water does not drain it will not spin , the fault is the pump is blocked or broke or the sump hose is block this leads into the pump

to fix take the drain hose the grey one and put it in to a bucket and it will empty the water

if not the sump hose is blocked

if it emptys lie the machine on its side if poss with power off , if it will not lie on its side disconect the water hoses

look under the machine u should see the pump and the sump hose u can remoe this hose put lots of old towels down to catch the water check in side the sump hose for blockages

the pump this on the new models has hex bit screws on it to open check to see if it move freely it should spring back slightly

try this any problems let me know the model number

After water drains, it slowly comes back and fills in the drum over time.

Use the attached video to show you how to access the inside of the machine.Ignore the other parts other than access and re-assemly.

Keeps filling with water, but draining at the same time!

be sure your drain is nearly to the top of the washer if it is you may need to try a siphon break

Hotpoint washer fills begins to agitate then refills continously.

Very likely your drain hose is set too low. You can solve this with a standpipe or a kit called a siphon break.

WF860 drum filling with water

Normally I would think that the problem is with the drain system (faulty pump or clogged lines), but you told me that also "When the washing machine is not bein.g used the drum slowly starts to fill with water!!" therefor I think it can be a dafective inlet valve or a faulty control assembly.
In either case, you will need a technician to fix this.

Not draining and flooding my kitchen!

hiya
first off norah, you will need to check the pump filter as there is probably a blockage in there.

secondly guest, sounds like a faulty pressure switch or even a small hole in the pressure pipe, thats why your machine will not stop filling.

hope these help

please dont forget to rate the helpfulness of this reply thanks kj

Not Filling with water

Suggest you have a look at where your drain hose is going. The highest point in the hose needs to be higher than the "minimum drainage hose height" line marked on the back of the machine. Washing machines don't have valves to keep the water in - they simply rely on the pump pushing water over the hump in the hose when you want to empty them, and the water not being able to climb the hill on its own the rest of the time. you are probably plumbed in under the sink for the drain hose. a common problem is water coming back down the drain hose when you empty the sink. if so take the drain hose up as far as possible in a swan neck. other possibility is a leaking fill valve
