Dryer turns, but why doesn't it heat?

The dryer may have been installed incorrectly or the heating element may have suffered early failure. If the dryer is new, it should be covered under warranty.

Not heat

Probably need a heat element. a pretty easy fix. most likely you just take off front panel unplug old element and plug in new one. hard to say without knowing the model/ brand.

My dryer wont heat

Not sure of my brand, but when my dryer would continue to run without heating, I replaced one small fuse in the back using Google to find the right part (What Causes Gas Dryer to Stop Heating) and a youtube video to walk me through the process. Instead of a $75 maintenance visit or purchasing a new dryer, I solved the problem for $2.50.
This video worked for me, but you could search for other brands.

Brand new dryer wont heat

depending on which model roper dryer it can be a thermal fuse,high-limit thermostat, cycling switch, burned off wire in control panel, check each side of the heating element to ground and find 125 v.a.c. then on the side of the element that has low or no voltage on it to ground start at the element and back track the components leading to the dead leg on the element till you find 125 vac to ground and replace or repair component or wire, then you should get 240 to 250vac across heating element terminals

I brought a brand new Amana NGD5100TQ and it will not heat the gas line is connected and it will not warm.Do I need to light a pilot light or will it light by it's self.

Hello,

It has a automatic pilot in the form of a electric igniter and as long as the gas not only is connected but turned on and flowing to the dryer it should be heating...for some reason if it is not heating and due it being brand new i suggest you call for warranty service and have a tech come see why its not heating under the warranty and thusly free, Just once again make sure the gas it turned on nad flowing to the dryer; when the handle for the shutoff valve runs parrell to the direction of the gas line its turned on...if its turned 90degreees oppisite of the line its off

I have an old Maytag dryer and its model # is LDE8800 and the serial # is 201878 DU and there is no heat in the dryer cycle anymore. It runs but doesn't dry anything--any help? thanks! Ali

Need a new heating element. had a look around cant find one for yours, maytag did recall a lot of heating elements due to severe problems. they are not a very good brand. i think the model is too old for a new element. Time for a new dryer i think. try Hotpoint or LG

New Whirlpool Duet gas dryer (wgd9300vu) won't heat.

if its brand new,
anmd its gas, well then more than likely it was dropped, when it was dropped the graphite ignitor craked or broke due to shock impact,
i delivered units for 5 years and saw this numerous times.
I would tell you to fix it your self, but its brand new, if the company you bought it from has service they should give you a free service call and part
