Office max paper shredder

My wife jammed too much paper in our office max shredder (I told her not to) and striped the teeth off the main drive gear (plastic gear).

Anyone know where to find a replacment Gear?

    Office Max model OM96582

Motor shaft has worm gear and the first plastic gear has mating angled teeth. I was not home and the person using it said it was trunning great until it stopped. They reversed it and tried to go forward again until it simply whines and nothing happens. The angled worm teeth cut into the steel shaft ground about four teeth off of that first drive gear.

I've tried searching by model number online with no sucess.

Gear has broken tooth. Approx. 6.5 cm OD Gear accomadtes a 12 mm Hexagonal Drive Shaft in the center, 36 teeth, (cross section views 13 mm overall width = 3 mm hub , 10 mm gear ring width. Approx 5 mm tooth pitch. I have searched on line for parts lists, IPBs, Service manuals, OFFice Max shredder reapirs and replacement parts, everything else I can think of with no succes of finding any parts at all. Makes no sense to me. Surely thery didn't just produce one for one and throw away the mold for this what appears to be a phenolic materiloa gear!!!!! I'm getting seriously hacked off!! Anybody know how to find out who manufactured the OfficeMax OM99727 shredder?

You are probably out of luck as the manufacturers usually don't sell any parts for lower-cost shredders. I would see if Office Max has a repair or trade-in program.

My omnitech shredder OT-NXC8PA stopped working after clearing a paper jam. Seems the machine is running, but not sucking papers.

I think you just fried your gears. The motor is fine, but the gears that connect the motor to the shredding mechanism have had the teeth flattened up. No teeth on the gears = not shredding papers. The gears are made of plastic anyway.

If the motor runs but the cutting teeth dont turn then you have stripped or broken a gear in the drive train. You can get replacement parts from Royal at 1-800-524-0799.

Main drive gear is damaged on and Ativa shedder

If you main gear drive is broken you probably had a paper jam, so your shredder blade gear will break soon. By the time you purchase the part and pay for the shipping it would cost just about the same as gettin a new one. Then you will not have to wotty about anything esle breaking after you get this part because of the stress you put on the motor and other gears. I hope this helps you.
