Fuser MFC 9420CN

We have the replace fuser message. Does anyone know how many copies will still print from the first time this message appears? We will probably trash this copier but trying to get all we can out of it.

How do i reset the life of the fuser on the mfc 9420

Actually the Replace Fuser message on these specific models sometime fail to reset after you replace the part.

If this happens:
Press Menu 6,3 and then select option 4 (Fuser)
Press okay
Press Stop/Exit

If you haven't replaced the unit then you should try that first.

Additionally If you are an unhelpful troll, don't post your ad-homonym attack as a solution.

How do I replace the fuser?

could be, but most likely not. if streaking is happening only when using the feeder and not when you put original on glass, clean small strip of glass to the left of large glass.
if you feel it may be the fuser, procedure for changing fuser and resetting message is in users guide.

Fuser roll has big dents in it, says unable to print

Dear Computer_tea,

If the fuser is damaged as you say, you will need to replace it. The unit will not print correctly and the image quality will be very poor.
The fuser unit is part of the maintenance kit, and unless you replace the maintenance kit, it will still say the same. You will need to replace the kit and now for the bad news.

The maintenance kit is going to cost you over $500.

You will need to consider very carefully befor you go out to buy a kit as these printers can be purchased for around $900 new.

Fuser problem with Brother MFC 9420CN laser all in one

Unplug the printer and allow it to cool.  Then gently wipe off the surface of the photo-sensitive drum with a cotton swab.  If this doesn't work you may need to replace the drum.

Replace Fuser Reset

For the MFC 8860, I turned off the printer. I help down menu. I turned on the computer. It entered Maintenance mode. I typed in 88 (Parts Replacement.) I scrolled to the fuser, clicked ok. Then, I turned off the printer. When I turned the printer on, it said that I needed to replace my laser. I then turned the printer off, help down menu, turned the printer on, typed in 88 at the maintenance menu (parts replacement), scrolled down to laser, and hit ok. I then turned the printer on and off, and poof, now it works. I find it quite unscrupulous that I had a replace PF Kit1, replace Fuser, and replace laser messages all within one hour...

Colour printing gives ghost image

Are you using genuine Brother color cartridges? If you are, then try different paper (20 pound laser printer paper or plain paper copier paper rather than inkjet paper,) Also, do not use recycled paper. If that does not work, you may need a new imaging (OPC belt) unit, or a new fuser assembly. Check your owners manual about when to replace the imaging unit or fuser. It is usually after 60, 000 prints have been run.
