Take it apart ind see if a wire is broken. You can use a meter for this. You could test the wires on another speaker also.
I can't fix this for you, but if I helped you get it fixed, please rate it as a fixya not a helpful rating. These ratings let me be allowed to help you and others in the future.

No sound, any ideas

Please try to connect the system to another sound source, such as to a different computer, or for example to an MP3 player or mobile phone. If the system is still not working, then most probably there is a problem with the Jack cable or with the sub-woofer's mother board. A very important segment is to check whether the whole system is not working, or possibly the woofer works, because this might answer some further questions and narrow down the problem. Please also kindly check if the blue led in the Sub is glowing.

I have a HK 595 sub. with no sattelite cables.

you need the the satellite speakers hooked up in order for the sub to work. its not a standalone sub the volume control knob on the satellite speaker is what powers on the sub. i have extra speakers i wish i could give you cuz my sub just blew out.

How can I get my Harman Kardon Soundsticks 1 to work on my PC?

The USB version of the soundsticks was specifically designed for the mac and they worked just by plugging them in and then telling the system to use them instead of the analogue outputs. Unless someone has produced drivers for Windows XP for these speakers I think that you will probably not be able to use them.

One speaker not working.

Suggest you swap the right speaker into the left output if it works the the amplifer in the control unit is faulty. IF still on sound then the rigth speaker is faulty.
