Question about Quasar HQ2051TH Air Conditioner

Open Question

Removing l-shaped Quasar window air conditioner

I have a Quasar window air conditioner of the type that has the body below window sill level with just a slim air vent above the sill.

I've forgotten how to remove this unit and I cannot determine the model number in order to access the information.

Is anyone familiar with the removal procedure? It has two handles mounted centrally - an inner one and an outer one. The outer one lifts up but the a/c seems to be fixed to the sill when I try to lift the inner one.

Air conditioners remove moisture from the air. The water collects in the base of the unit. Under normal conditions this water will be evaporated out of the unit. However, it is possible for some water to sit stagnant in the base of the air conditioner for extended periods of time. There is no easy way to prevent this problem. The problem will be reduced if you carefully clean the base of the inside of the air conditioner at least once a year. That will keep any dirt, lint or dust from absorbing the water and allowing mold and mildew to grow. Also, replace the filter behind or in the front cover.

also check the drain ,to make sure its draining properly If this helps please give me a fix ya vote

Water draining from underneath the unit on and down the window on the outside. This is running down the wood of the sill. There is also a great amount of it collecting in the pan, almost to over spill...

most window units use the water in pan and throw it upon condenser which evaporates it. need to check if its level side to side with a slight tilt to the back in window.

Need to know if I can connect a drain hose/tube to my air conditioner model # FAX054-P7A1. I'm having a problem with water collecting in the window sill/track

Hello, the first thing is make sure the AC is tilted a bit in the window, if it is level the water will collect toward the front of the unit and drip inside. Second if there is a drain hole on tne unit then you can connect a hose to it and let it drain. However if there is no drain hole then the unit uses tne fan blade to splash the water on the condenser and since the condenser is warm/hot it will condense the water.

The water condensation seems to be flowing into the room damaging my floor instead of to the outside. What can I do?

the outside lower edge of unit must be lower than window sill.use a level or place a ball on top of unit &see which way it rolls.it should roll right off to the ground.adjust how its mounted.

Sill supports for window air conditioner...no sills

ok do not worry...every unit comes with outside supports that allow you to tilt the uinit to the outside a little so the water discharge can leake outside and not inside your house...one support go in eachside under th eunit one side connect to the wall and the other side connect to the bottom of the unit...
the whole is need on the side you are going to let the water out...the unis discharge lots of water and need a way out and the hole is for that make suer it is on the back close to the corner and far away from any moving part.(I usually find a place under the fan that is if they do not have one pre-driled

Does the product a/c have a drain hole?

Air conditioners of your type have tiny passages that allow the water (if clean) to go to the back of the unit where a splash ring on the fan blade whips the water onto the hot condenser coil, eliminating the condensate outdoors and subcooling the refigerant in the condenser in doing so.
If you have water inside and its level or slight tilt back , then you need to clean it up or forget it!

Have no outside window sill to support

Purchase an "L" shaped shelf bracket (heavy duty of course) and fasten it to the outside wall under the window. You should be able to now use the support bracket against it. You can even get special plant hangers that will serve the same purpose. I have seen many people do this and it seems to solve the problem!

what i did was buy a 2x6 cut them all into about 18 inches in length screwed one piece onto the window sill and the other 3 i screwed into that piece going out the window so the a/c unit sits on the wood pieces and clears the window sill that way i dont have to worry about the a/c unit weight on the window it was all on the wood pieces sticking out
