Vw beta car radio, made by blaupunkt

I bought vw passat without radio from a guy who just bought newer vw sharan and he gave me this radio because he didn't need it. I've got the code for it (don't know how to type nr. "7" when there are only 6 numbered buttons, though), but don't know how to get into unlock mode, whatever I press LCD background light flashes blue and nothing else, nothing on LCD whatsoever. It has 3 connectors, I've plugged the one with loudspeakers and on the power connector I've connected pin 8 to gnd, and pins 5,6 and 7 to +12V. Please help, I have no user manual, and am not familiar with these radios.

I have a blaupunkt gamma radio, when i turn the volume up it digitally decreases to 0. I know this because I can turn up the GALA and the value stays there.

If I keep turning up the volume at the same rate it is decreasing, the output volume stays until I stop turning.

If I change talk volume then it will always begin at 0 and go to the peach that I reach before I stop turning, if I turn after the volume has gone to 0 then the numbers begin from 0.

Anything I can do to fix it? 2001 production.

There is also no display saying that the user is decreasing the volume. But if I turn the knob it shows what volume it is being set to

To switch the system on, push the button left. When blue background light appears with the word "Safe" en ter your code. Example: code is 3527 push button nr1 3x, button2 5x, button3 2x and button4 7x. Confirm by pushing button 8 or 9. When the correct code is entered the system will go in operational mode. If the incorrect code is entered "Safe" will appear again. Good luck.

I have a VW Passat 2006 2.0L FSI. I replaced the battery. How do I get the radio code?

There was a tear out tag in the owner's manual. If you do not have this tag you must visit a VW dealer and have them remove the radio to retrieve the serial number of the unit. This will allow them to find the code on VW's database. Hint; if a really good looking girl shows up with this problem, sometimes the guys in service will do it for nothing, otherwise it's about .5 hour flat rate.

I have a Code '0832' for beta passat 99 but i can't enter it, the is written SAFE on screen what the methode to enter it?

IMPORTANT NOTE: You must have the security anti-theft code for your Beta radio from the car manufacturer, or from a VW dealer!

The sequence of programming for 1999 VW Passat - Beta radio is:
1. Push simultaneous "SCAN" and "RDS" keys until on the screen will appear "1000" displayed.
2. Release keys. No more push on "SCAN" and "RDS" keys because otherwise number "1000" will be considered as first safe code attempt.
Your code is "0832". Then:
3. By the no.# 1 key you will set up the first safe code digit. Push 9 times on the no.# 1 button. The "0" number will be setted.
4. By the no.# 2 key you will set up the second safe code digit. Push 8 times on the no.# 2 button. The "8" number will be setted.
5. By the no.# 3 key you will set up the third safe code digit. Push 3 times on the no.# 3 button. The "3" number will be setted.
6. By the no.# 4 key you will set up the four-th safe code digit. Push 2 times on the no.# 4 button. The "2" number will be setted.
7. Then push again simultaneous "SCAN" and "RDS" keys for confirm this safe code. On the screen will be displayed "SAFE" notice. Release keys! For few seconds a radio frequence will be displayed. The radio is now ready for use!

Smoke sometimes out of exhaust bypass

It is not an exhaust bypass or filter.

It is a booster heater , which enables quicker warm up in cold conditions.

An electronic box and sensor only kicks heater on when subzero conditions. It burns diesel , hence the smoke from underneath passenger side.

Hope this helps.
