I recently upgraded my machine to a pentium IV 3 gHz processor and 2 GB RAM. My operating system is Windows XP professional. Since upgradation, my machine had hung for about three times in 2 weeks (reset button had to used to restart it), What could be the problem ? By the way, I run normal programs like word, excel etc. Nothing extravagant.

make sure that you don't need to overclock your setting (in BIOS ) so as to get full ddr3 frequency. That it, you need to overclock your CPU speed and if you want to work at great speed, try you upgrade you processor. try a core 2 duo or a quad-core and make sure that it matches with your FSB, with maximum L catch ( 12 mb)
You can upgrade your pc to intel chipset original motherboard...and do it to intel core 2 duo processor. if u want to upgrade ur ram then go for 1GB ram...
and 250 GB hard disk
and finally go for pentium-IV
and dvd writter...
and use microsoft mouse and keyboard
bcoz it does not require driver to be installed
