Hi, I have a Hitachi 43FWX20B and the picture shows no red. I opened the servce cover and the red lamp does not light up when the TV is powered on. The other lamps light up just fine. I think the red lamp is burnt out. Where can I find a replacement lamp ? I have searched many of the links for replacement lamps off this page but have not found a replacement for my TV. Also - while I have it apart, is there anything else I shold o to tune it up ? I read somewhere that I should replace the CRT coolant fluid for this model if the picture has halos around objects or the picture is dull. Is this true ? Thanks, Brian

As you said your set uses 3 crt's red.blue and green.. not lamps.. If the red is not on it could be for several reasons other than the crt itself. From the driver ic located on the crt driver board attached to the neck of the red tube. It could also be the high voltage block or the anode lead going from the hv block to the crt itself. These carry a hefty voltage and will knock you on your but and make every filling in your mouth light up lol.. I recommend you having someone experienced check it out. As for the fluid, if the picture was good before it went out then that wouldnt be something to worry about. Removing the tubes to refill with fluid requires a massive alignment job afterwards.

Tv doesnt turn on and the lamp bulb is blinking

Hi,

I recently replaced my lamp in my Hitachi 50VG825 TV and the red light was continually blinking for the lamp. The manual tells us to make sure that the lamp is screwed in tightly. I opened the covered and sure enough the screws needed to be tightened.

Try that and make sure you replace the tv cover. Hopefully this will work out for you like it did for me.

I have a hitachi rptv model #43FWX20B and the picture has a red tint to it. Opened back up and red green and blue bulbs light up. red bulb stays bright while blue and green go dim to bright as tv plays....

Howdy;
Since you don't have any white lines with the red screen/picture I would say that the red bulb (CRT) is conducting too much. There is an adjustment control for that. The 'sceen' control is behind the speaker cover and service cover. Turn red screen control slightly to the left until you get a good black and white picture.

Good Luck, Big Irish.

KDF-50a12U Powers off then standby light blinks 3 times

Please recheck Lamp Cover and make sure it is fixed in its space securely as 3 times red blink shows lamp cover error.
There is small safety switch in TV cabinet under lamp cover that has to be pushed by lamp cover if it is fixed in its position properly. That switch is not being pressed by lamp cover and causing this error.
Thanks.

Lamp went out on DLP TV

Did you replace the lamp door? A flashing red light is an indication of a door open or an impropely seated lamp. Try removing the lamp and reseating it. Reinstall the door and try turning it on again. Also, you may want to unplug the TV from the power source, count to about 20 and then plug it back up again. This may reset the TV.
Good luck

Need to replaced lamp

The easy way to confirm if it is the bulb. Unplug the power to the TV. Remove 2 screws that keeps the lamp cover in the TV. (see manual on lamp replacement). This is on the left side of the TV. Then remove the 2 screws that hold the lamp unit in. Pull out the lamp unit by the handle and then look at the lamp. If it is broken, you will need to replace the lamp.

Problem with picture it is very dark

hi,
Just a guess, under the power button, inside the the flip[ down cover is a light dimmer, you can turn this on and off,in advanced settings under video,a flash light will trigger the sensor to see if it works the dimmer,if not it could be that circuit or your power supply needs work,I hope this helps!
