First of all you must switch ON the TV much more frequently specially if there is dust or moisture accumulation in your place. This will keep the electronics of the set in good shape.
If the set does not power up , the fault can be failure off the SMPS units if there is no trace of voltage or any indication in the panel. If so I would like you to take some tips from the following site for servicing the SMPS Unit.
log on to :

However if the +5 does come into the main panel then you must check the microprocessor for faulty condition. The crystal and the oscillations in the terminals must be checked to prove the processor is working. Use a good multimeter to check the voltages, however in most cases a signal test with an oscilloscope might be necessary. Hence attempt according to your availability of tools and expertise.

Finally check on main panel for visible failures, shorted capacitors, shorted drivers or open fusible links or resistors.

The advice/tip given is with the belief that you are competent. You must attempt to do it yourself only if you are technically/logically able, especially when dealing with delicate devices, damaging while trying to open, Probing electrical/electronic circuits with high voltage or delicate components. Since the advice given by me is with the inputs provided and not based on a visual inspection, there can be further reviews required in some cases.

If you can get a technician to have a look into the set with a first hand information of the estimation, it will be worth as the estimation provided can help you to decide.
Sometimes it can be very basic and the set might serve you much longer.
If there is no power remove plug and check if the fuse has gone inside.. just to start with.

Power button

I agree with DickCanFixIt, also if you've added any hardware to your PC recently it could be drawing more power which has resulted as this issue. If this was the case you could try removing the added hardware to see if that changes anything. If this was the case you would simply need a new power supply with a higher wattage.

power in the tv has nothing related with the DVD. The tv has to have raster (white screen) even without signal (cable, DVD, others) if the tv alone is just having the led flashing and neither sound nor video (black screen) The tv has a short circuit in some of the boards that are part of the tv system. the blinking is part of a protection when the tv was created in the factory. Refer to the technician to repair this problem.
