To get into a computer BIOS...

You don't specify what kind of computer you have so here's a couple of sugestions. When you first turn the computer on and get the Manufactures logo on the screen hitting some of the following keys.

DEL
F10
F2
F1

Hope this helps. Next time clarify which make and model computer you have. Thanks!

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

Gigabyte G31

It is impossible to increase the performance of a built-in video card except increasing the video RAM. The more RAM you add the less main RAM will be allocated to the main memory. The reason is the video card uses Shared RAM.
To increase the video RAM go into the BIOS setup - video display - memory allocation.
The best way to improve is to install a video card in the AGP expansion slot, you may need to disable the on-board video in the BIOS.

How to clear and load cmos default bios parameter for a Aspire 5630 modle no. BL50?

Two methods;

A)
1) Remove ALL power to the laptop, except the CMOS battery.
Remove the AC adapter (Charger) and Battery.

2) Press the Power On button in, and hold it in for a full count of FIVE seconds.
Let go of the Power On button.
Do this procedure TWO more times. (Important)

This procedure clears CMOS Error Codes, and resets BIOS Setup back to the factory default settings.
Reinstall power. Install the Battery FIRST, then the AC adapter.

B)
Go into BIOS Setup.

As soon as you press the Power On button, start tapping in 2 second intervals, on three keys at the SAME TIME.

Press all 3 keys at the same time.
CTRL, ALT, and ESC.

No?
Hold the Power On button down for 10 seconds to turn the laptop off.
Wait 30 seconds, turn the laptop back on.

As soon as you press the Power On button start tapping on the F2 key.
(Tap in 2 second intervals)

When in BIOS Setup look at the main page, and towards the bottom.
Here you will see an F key listed that when pressed, will revert BIOS Setup back to the factory default settings. (Generally F6)

C) Remove all power from the laptop.
Lay a towel on a table, and lay the laptop upside down on the towel.

Open the Memory Compartment Panel, and remove all ram memory modules. ('Stick')
Located towards the middle of the ram memory compartment is the J3 jumper.
There is a J3 with a square line going around it.

This jumper is used to clear any settings made, and will go straight back to all factory default settings.
In otherwords if someone set a BIOS password, the J3 jumper will remove it.
Factory setting for BIOS password is no password.

I have 8mb shared memory on my pc. but i dont have BIOS or i'm not able to find it on my pc. So can i download any useful software or firmware for my pc useful for increasing my shared memory

To access your BIOS, simply restart your computer and pay close attention to the screen. On the bottom you should see something like "Enter setup" or "enter BIOS" . Then it will say a key to press. It is usually delete or F2. Let me know if it works.

Cannot allocate hypermemory

I've noticed that in the bios you can't increase Dedicated video memory because the max for your laptop is 256 but if you check your overall video memory with the shared memory added on by right clicking on your desktop and clicking screen resolution, go to advanced settings, and it should show your adapter with the amount of total graphics memory, the dedicated video memory (video memory of video card), system memory(Mine is 0), and shared video memory ( Ram being accolated together with the graphics card making more video card memory in all). If you switched to XP however, you will probably have less video card memory. Everything should be fine if your on your laptop's default operating system (Mine is windows 7 home premium).

To increase the memory of the graphics card.

Hello. When you turn your computer on there should be an option to enter the BIOS/setup(eg.:Press F1 for BIOS). From this menu there should be an option to change the shared/video memory. Make sure you press F10 after you change the shared memory size to save the changes. There is no download to give you more memory as it is a physical component rather than software. Also you could purchase an add-on video card. I believe the add-on cards are approaching 4GB of onboard memory. Hope this helps you :)

If there's nothing in the bios, then check the intel video driver/management software installed on the laptop. Also consider calling Acer support. They are excellent.

Limited video shared memory 64mb

Hi icr
You better try to increase the virtual memory of your system as seems you would nt be able to increase the pre allocated video memory to your video device.
The virtual thing you can do by going to the my computer's properties and then in advanced tab you find performance options .Here you can tweak your virtual memory accg to your systtem memory

Waiting for your appreciation
