Question about Dell Inspiron 6000 Notebook
It may be a hard drive error reporting feature available on SOME (not all) hard drives, via hard drive firmware.
Check your BIOS Setup and see if it is enabled : the HD may have a feature you will be able to correct this by enabling it.
have you tried (bottom right corner of screen) Dell icon support " get in contact with www.dell.com and give them the service tag #.
