Question about Kodak ESP 5 Printer

2 Answers

My printer stops in the middle of a print job and displays an error message of 3802. When I tried unplugging it for 5 minutes as directed, it gave me a message that it detected a new printhead and needed to calibrate. (there is no new printhead)

Partly because I had no idea how to uninstall my printer, I searched around until I found the Trouble-shooting section of the online manual for my printer. In addition to the usual disconnect directive, they suggested removing and replacing the printhead two times. That seems to have taken care of the problem. Just thought you'd like to know.

I actually used a different solution suggested in the printer's Help section. It involved removing and replacing the printhead twice (probably cycling the contact points like in a flashlight battery) After recalibrating, it's been working fine. But thanks for your suggestion.

Hello.

The most common reason for the message is a faulty printhead.

Try replacing.

Hope this helps.

Hi! The printer may have resetted it's system that's why it shows that there's a new printhead. I strongly suggest that you unplug the machine from power source and so the usb cable. Uninstall the existing printer program then restart the pc. Install a fresh copy of the printer driver and follow the installation process carefully. This can resolve the problem. Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa!

My HP 5500 stops printing jobs on its own. If I hit continue, it keeps printing the same job and not moving on to the next one in line. It also prints all of page one and page two, but I have to pull...

Try unplugging it for 10 minutes to reset it.

also clear out all print jobs on the computer and then try again and let me know what the situation is after following the two directions I gave.

thanks

Error code 0051930 49.bb28 Printer prints old jobs even when it says no jobs stored. I have turn off the printer, unpluged the printer and it is slow or much later or not at all print the job requsted.

A critical firmware error has occurred that caused the processor on the formatter to abort operation. This type of error can be caused by invalid print commands, corrupt data, or invalid operations.
In some cases, electrical noise in the cable can corrupt data during transmission to the printer.
Other causes include poor-quality parallel cables, poor-connections, or home-grown programs.
On rare occasions, the formatter is at fault, which is usually indicated by a 79 Service Error.

1. Turn the printer off then on.

2. Press Stop to clear the print job from the printer memory.

3. Turn the printer off then on.

4. Try printing a job from a different software program. If the job prints, go back to the first program and try printing a different file. If the message displays only with a certain software program or print job, contact the software vendor for assistance.

5. If the message persists with different software programs and print jobs, disconnect all of the cables to the printer that connect it to the network or computer.

6. Turn the printer off.

7. Remove all memory DIMMs or third party DIMMs from the printer. (Do not remove the firmware DIMM.)

8. Remove all EIO (JetDirect Cards) devices from the printer.

*Remember to protect from ESD

9. Turn the printer on.

10. If the error no longer exists, install each DIMM and EIO device one at a time, making sure to turn the printer off and on again as you install each device.

Error 49 4CO2 Service Error on a HP Laser Jet Printer 5500 DTN

This is related to the JetDirect Card and the specific print job attempting to print. If JetDirect is 615 or lower slide out JetDirect card and power cycle printer once it comes up o.k power down and
slide JetDirect card back in once the printer is back up look on the display for processing job which may take 5 minutes but it is the offending job trying to print again as it is still in the print que. If you are quick enough you can hit cancel on the display panel to cancel the corrupt printjob and if you are successful then the other print jobs stacked behind it should start printing away with no problem. Hp blames the 49 error on a plethora of problems though mine are usually related to documents using different versions of Adobe and also PowerPoint printjobs that are excessively large as the print spooler cannot handle them but it is always a corrupt print job and once that is cleared no problem. Occasionaly replacing the JetDirect card is required to solve the issue. With the 620 Jetdirect card no need to remove it just unplug the network cable same procedure as above.

I have had error message 3802 come up many times. I re installed the cartage holder and now black in will not print. What do I do? The printed used to work fine

im getting this same error, i suggest turning to the kodak 5*00 troubleshooting for advise, they use the same print mechanism

it seems that 3802 is related to a blocked or dirty print head... try taking it out and wiping it softly with tissue (dont apply too much pressure, and stroke only along the lines, not across them)
this seemed to do the trick for me.

the 5 series kodaks used to respond well to a 92% ethanol solution being used to clean them, if you need to do that, just make sure its dried off before putting it back in the printer

Printhead Error 3802 I have the Kodak ESP 5 all in one printer. It started printing blank pages a little while ago. Sometimes if I tried to print a couple of times it would eventually come out, so I knew...

3802 Mean Printhead Failuer

All You need to do is turn the printer Off and On

And if the problem still there

Remove the ink cartridges and the printhead

And if the problem still there
Do it that again for (5x)

And if the problem still there

Tell this to kodak support

And tell the troubleshooting steps you did.

Printing status frozen and won't delete or print

Have you tried unpluging your printer from the computer as well as unpluging the printer from the electrical? If that doesn't work you should start from scratch... that is remove the printer from the computer memory, delete it, turn off the computer, turn on the computer and go through the installation process as if you just purchased the printer. Barring any mechanical problems as in jams or the such, the printer should return to operational status.

Kodak 5300 first said error 3802 now says print head missing or loose

I got the same Problem as listed above. This is the way how I was able to solve it:
  • Remove the color and black ink cartridges and the printhead. (the 5300 Printhead can be removed by pressing a button on top of the carriage and a slight pull --> for better instructions use this official Kodak PDF)
  • Try to clean the printhead and the carriage with a slighty wet cloth from ink. CAUTION!: better not touch the green electronic chip! Be carefull while cleaning.
  • Reinstall the printhead and the ink cartridges.
  • If the printer detects a 'new' printhead just do a calibration and your are done. If not try to print a test page.

Hope this solves the Problem. Best wishes
