You have to "turn on" the web browser by going to the shop channel and getting the browser channel. When I got my wii it cost 500 point ($5) to turn it on but I hear it's free now

Hello, i had the same problem but i think the problem solves by going to configuration for your router by putting your ip on the web adress bar and most of the routers with this problem has a icon or a tab of letting diffrent divices. You should let it to all devices and i might work. (Works For Most Routers.)

I am trying to connect the internet to the Wii system. Thank you.

Hi Carrierkaren,
Just follow these simple step-by-step procedures and you will be on-line in no time.
1) Press the A Button on the Wii Remote and select the "Wii" tab on bottom left hand corner of your screen
2) Select "Wii Settings" then "Wii System Settings"
3) Scroll to page two using the arrow (which is on the right side of the screen) and select "Internet."
4) Select "Connection 1: None" ( If you dont see "None" in Connection 1, Click the Connection 1 button, then choose "Clear Settings.")
5) Click on "Wireless Connection" then "Search for an Access Point."
6) Select "OK" and choose your Wireless network ( it will ask for a router password )
7) Select "OK," "Save Settings," and then "Yes." ( at this point, your Wii will do connection test. You can disregard the support code as long as you see "Connection Test successful".)
8) Select "Yes" and "I Accept" - that's all there is to it. You are already on-line.
Hoping to hear positive results. Enjoy surfing :)

How to get internet

Sorry to hear your having problems with your wii. You can connect the wii via wifi or wired with an adapter. Check out Nintendo's tutorial for instructions on how to do this:
http://us.wii.com/connect/

You basically goto:
Wii Options at the bottom left corner of your home screen, then Wii Settings, Click the right arrow to goto the next page, Click Internet, Click Connection Settings, Click Connection 1, Click Wireless Connection. Click Search for an Access Point. Click OK to view the found access points. Select the Access point for your wireless internet, enter your encryption key, click Ok and then OK again to save settings, and then OK again to test the connection.

Once you have set up your wifi connection you can download the web browser channel from the wii shop channel for free. Then you can use the web browser channel to browse the web with the wii.
